fuel filter location & part number

I'm trying to figure out why it seems that I'm lacking some power on the hole shot. I've got to buy a compression tester, but in the mean time I thought I'd buy a new fuel filter while ordering the wax rope to stop the stream of water around my shaft.

On a 2002 Outback w/ 310hp carb, is there only one filter (the inline one low in the bilge) or is there one inside the fuel pump as well?

Is the inline filter, this one: http://www.skidim.com/prodinfo.asp?number=3299? It's listed as an EFI filter, but looks the same and is also listed as for Moombas.

not sure that is the one. It seems like the one that fits our boats is a 3/8 inlet/outler. Here are the part numbers from the ones I use.

AC Delco GF482
Hastings GF112

I realized after posting that the inlet/outlet were, in fact, 3/8" rather than 1/2", but, referencing the Indmar Operators Manual, I got a series of part numbers as follows: Indmar 556003;Wix 33033; AC GF61P; Napa 3033; and Purolator F20118). Looking at the dimensions of those filters, it looks like it's much smaller than the one I took out.

Referencing the part number that JesseC listed, I get the right dimensions. I guess Moomba didn't use the same in line filter as listed in the Indmar Operators Manual.

The correct WIX number filter is: 33482

Here are the specs on the Hastings version GF112.

I'm going to Napa today to get the equivalent filter. It's a 3482. With the following dimensions:

Fuel Filter Height (Inches) : 5.546
Fuel Filter Inlet Thread Size (Inches) : 3/8
Fuel Filter O.D. (Inches) : 2.16
Fuel Filter Outlet Thread Size (Inches) : 3/8

It's just a little longer than the Hastings.
