steering squeking and creeking

The boat steers fines but noticed it was starting to creek and squeak a little bit, any thoughts as to how to fix would be appreciated. the boat has 40 hrs. so i doubt its a cable replacement, maybe just some grease.

You might need to grease the rudder shaft/seal. There should be a grease zerk somewhere on the top of the rudder near where the cable connects to it. Pump some grease in it and turn the steering wheel back and forth a bunch of times and see what that does.

Throw some on the exposed ends of the cable while yer there, too!
