View Full Version : Belt squeek whining when accerlating from a stop!

I have a 2004 Moomba Mobius LSV with the standard Indmar V-drive 310hp engine, my engine belt squeek whining when accerlating from a stop!

Is it difficult to replace the belt myself? Seems like the water bump is in the way?

I have an '04 OB. I haven't had to replace yet (277 hrs), but it can't be too hard. Have you tried to tighten it up?

I have around 270 hours as well... I have not tried to tighten it up, how would u do that? DIYable?

I've got a dd and have tightened and replaced belt. had to take a stabalizing bracket off for water pump, but was no biggy, 15-20 min...havent had a look at v drives tho.

I have just changed the belt it was so worn out! I simply unhook the water-pump water-line to install the new belt hope this is method is ok!

The engine is still working strong with the new belts!

That's great. We have to assume that the reason you haven't been on here in a while is you've been out enjoying that Moomba.
