View Full Version : Group Buy: Custom Moomba Branded Suction Coozies (Order Info Here!)

As I’m sure most of you know from the other thread (https://forum.moomba.com/showthread.php?t=6045), I am putting together a ‘group buy’ of Moomba branded ‘suction coolies’.

This is the product:
https://forum.moomba.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=754&stc=1&d=1217164970

Here is their website:
http://www.suctioncoolie.com/

Available Colors: Red, Silver, Blue, Green, Black & Yellow.

Unfortunately ORANGE is NOT AVAILABLE.

Screen printed logo will be white, and look something like this:
https://forum.moomba.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=755&stc=1&d=1217165025

(I just threw this together to get an idea, and it seemed to be the ‘winner’ in the other thread.)

Pre-Paid Pre-Orders will be $4.50 each, and you can pick any combination of the above colors. I have included the cost of shipping in to the price to make things easy.

There will be a limited number of ‘extra’ coolies left over in a variety of the available colors. Orders after the original order is placed will be $6 each.

From the time the order is submitted production takes 8-10 days. I will ship them out to each buyer as soon as I get them,

Pre-Paid orders can be sent to my PayPal;
With your PayPal please include :

number of coolies
color(s)
forum user name
shipping address where you’d like them mailed

If you'd prefer to mail a check please PM or email me and I'll give you my mailing address.

The order will be placed on 8/22/2008, which gives us just about a month to get the orders together. If decide to order after 8/22/2008 I can't guaruntee that I'll have the color(s) you want, as I'm placing a 1-time order for all of us to avoid additional set-up charges and small order fee's.

FYI: I’m not doing this to make a profit, I predict that I’ll end up breaking even, or loosing money; AKA owning a metric ton of Moomba boat coolies, lol. I will gladly email my personal contact info to anyone who is worried that I might ‘take the money and run’; I’m not a scammer, just saw this cool product and thought it would be neat to get them personalized :)

If any of the forum moderators wants to make this a 'Sticky' or send out a mass message to all the forum members I'd great appreciate it :)

Think these will fit in my cupholders?

I think they might be a bit too large to fit into the cup holders, however I've never seen the product in person, so I'm not sure. The cool part about them is that they have suction cups on the bottom, so you don't need a cup holder, just a flat hard surface!

Not trying to be a smarta$$ or anything but i'm just wondering where you'd use these? I have 11 cup holders in my LSV and nowhere to "stick" a suction cupholder at all and i'm sure these wouldn't fit the cupholders so where would anyone use them?

Good point Razzman. I had actually planned on using a couple on my riding mower's fender (it's a two beer job) so if it doesn't work out on the boat, I'm sure I'll find other uses for them. Plus they'll have Roo on them so I'm sold...

My Outback only has 6, and 2 of them are in the bow, which I usually leave covered. I will probably keep a couple on the top of the spotters side dash, and random other places when anchored.

I'm just a sucker for goofy trinkets and gadgets, lol, and I figured if I could make it match the boat even better :)

There will be a VERY limited amount of extras ordered, so if you are on the fence you might want to place your order before its too late. So far I've got 118 accounted for, and the order will be placed for 144 (unless of course the presale exceeds 144, lol), which leaves only 26 extras, divided by 7 colors thats only like 3 of each!

I got my free one today from filling out the survey.

Gotta warn you guys, I hope what I got is an economy model of what you are ordering.

The suction cups don't really hold all that well, especially when they get wet, and there is a huge opening in the bottom, which I believe will decrease insulation value.

But I guess having the Roo logo on something is worthwhile. He won't be around for long and may be a collector's item.

I recieved the free sample on Friday as well. I took it out this weekend and gave it a 'test run' and made a video.

I was very impressed with how well the suction cups held, I just stuck a can in the coolie, dunked it in the water, and plopped in on anything fiberglass and it stuck.

Here is a video I made to illustrate how 'Moomba friendly' they are :)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Kxhqa2322Rs

***Video might not work yet, I just uploaded it this morning.

Regarding the hole in the bottom; I think that is there to make it easier to push empty cans out, as they are held in pretty tight. The cooling functions seemed as good as a normal foam coozie.

I tested this out, and they will fit into the cup holders. I forgot to take a pic, I'll snap a few tonight when I'm on the boat.

hey, even though I have a supra, I'm in for a few. we have 2 grey ones that we have used for the last year(got from an uncle in the wiring business from a tradeshow). they fit just fine in the skiers choice cupholders, the only downside are that a few of the brands of beer don't fit real well in them, and the suction pieces will eventually wear out, but they are AWESOME. rolled over a 4ft surf wake the other weekend with one stuck on the bow, and it stayed put.....

Ian,

Is that the camera you have used for all the cool pics of your boat and the sky pics?

It is. Most of the pics I take of the boat are with this camera. Most of our skiing and wakebaording pics are taken with my dads Nikon D70. The pics of the camera were taken with my iPhone, lol.

Here is a link to my camera:
http://www.olympusamerica.com/cpg_section/product.asp?product=1287

For boating it is perfect. Shockproof, waterproof, freeze proof, and crush-proof. I've had it for just over a year and haven't had a lick of trouble. I usually go through cameras every 8-14 months, but I see a lot more life left in this one.

ian ashton
08-19-2008, 11:03 AM
Waterproof!

Ian, what's the make and model of that camera?

Here is a link to my camera:
http://www.olympusamerica.com/cpg_section/product.asp?product=1287

Its an Olympus Stylus 770SW. The picture quality isn't as great as my previous Canon camera, but it is by far the best Point & Shoot camera I've ever owned. Its virtually indestructable, which is what I need.

Starting up your own drug cartel Ian?

Cali is Colombia’s third largest city. Founded in 1536 by Sebastian de Belalcazar, it was a sleepy little mountain town until the sugar and coffee industries brought prosperity to the region. They aren't the only commodities, however. After drug lord Pablo Escobar was killed in Medellín in 1993 and the Medellín Cartel fell apart, the remaining drug traffickers moved to Cali and formed the Cali Cartel. However, this too dissolved when the treasurer of the cartel fled to the US.

HOLY CRAP! Boxing up ~135 of these things was more of a project than I expected! Many of you will laugh at the box when it arrives, as I had to get creative with the use of cardboard and packaging tape.

Anyway, All orders are boxed up and will get shipped out today. I'm sorry for the delay, I had a bit of unexpected travel to Minneapolis for work this week/weekend (if you ever watch H.I.N. on Speed Channel you will see me being interviewed on the new episode airing Nov. 11th, haha) Orders are boxed and in my trunk, ready to go.

Ian,

We received ours today, and from the entire Wolfeman clan . . .

THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU!

The girls went crazy and already have claimed their own. They are running around the house sticking the coozies to every hard surface they can find. Yes, they did try my head. No, they did not stick no matter how hard they slammed them into my skull.

Nice, creative work with the cardboard & packing tape! I took a few pics to share so everyone could see this masterful work. :)

hahah I like the caps. That is just funny. I know your excitment for them. I am still waiting by the mail box for mine also. This just shows us Ian needs to move to the west coast so we can get ours first next time. So Ian do you want to join the West group. Some nice lakes in the summer and Hills to snow ski on in the winter.

If you like darker, richer, more flavorful micros, you'll like Bud Amer Ale

Its good to me!

Dang advertising.. i was at the Gym the other night and the "Cardio Vision" tv kept advertising food, beer.. etc.. so I left the Gym and went to Walmart and bought groceries and beer!

I believe yours was in the batch that went out 2 days ago, but I did ship with USPS Priority, so you should get it today or tomorrow. Sorry for the long wait, I'm sure it will be well worth it!

Funny you mention it; I was actually in Sonoma 2 weeks ago, and Pleasonton 1 week ago. While I was on the left coast I got to check out NorCal MasterCraft (it was less than a mile from my hotel, and I couldn't find any NorCal Moomba/Supra dealers :( ) and also the MasterCraft WaterSki Pro Tour, which was the second time I saw it this year. Both were very cool. The West coast weather alone is enough to make me want to move! It was 40 degrees this morning, and I'm still planning on going to the water tonight!

I am OFFICIALLY SOLD OUT! I even ended up selling some of the ones that I had planned on keeping for myself!

Glad everyone is into them; if interest keeps up we can always look at a second order, maybe in the spring or something.

I'd love to look into doing beach towels next, in varios colors. We'll see...
