I'm adding bow sack to my boat and I'm trying to keep it as simple as possible so I need to know who manufacturers the electric ballast valves for skiers choice. I've tried atlanta marine today but can't get them on the phone. If anyone knows the answer and maybe where to get them I would really appreciate any info. I have an 07 LSV with the gravity 3 ballast

Not to take over this post but I have a simular question about the valve. I wabt to replace my pumps. It is taking way too long to fill the bags. My question is, will these valve handle more water flow?

Thats sorta the problem with using the sprinkler valves, they're very restrictive. Wonder if using a 1" sprinkler valve would help? From what ive heard Skiers Choice has redesigned there ballast system for 08, is this correct? Id like to get rid of them all together and go with something else.

My brother-in-law bought a new 08' Supra. He has the same setup as my 07' LSV. Same valves and pumps. By the way, is there 3 each pump. What I mean is, howmany total pumps for the bags are there. 3 for incoming water and 3 for outgoing water (a pair for each bag)

There are a total of 4 pumps.
1 fill pump at 2000 GPH
and three evac pumps, one per bag I think they are 750 GPH.

Thanks Jesse--
So what type of pump can I use to replace the one that I have?

What size bags are you running? I have the twin 400s in the rear and the 450 in the locker. Takes about 10 minutes or so to fill. I have though about putting a T after the cutoff valve, adding a second 2000 GPH so they worked side by side then add another T after the pumps, but I was not sure if they could get enough water coming off of the same inlet and I also was not sure if this would just create a high pressure problem at the valve tree.......I wish someone would try it though. Seems like it would be easy and would work??????

I have the G3 system 3 400lb bags. I am thinking of upgrading the two reat to 750lbs for wake surfing. My brother-in-law has the 750 and took for ever to fill.

In the LSV's the center sack only fills about halfway due to lack of space, so I'm going to add the integrated bow sack and a 4 port manifold with an extra valve, I've been filling a 600 lbs sack manually for the front walkway anyway so it can't be much slower than that and I could control it with a switch. The center is full in half the time the rears are anyway. The bags do fill quicker if your moving while the pump is running also. If you haven't tried adding more weight up front yet you should, the wake gets alot bigger.

Tazz,

This is just a suggestion. You should consider getting just one 750# bag and just swap it for the 400 lb bag on the surf side when it's time to surf. Since you just started wakeboarding, the stock Gravity III should be plenty good for a while for wakeboarding.

That's my set up - I run 400 lbs x 3 when wakeboarding and swap out the surf side 400 for the 750 when surfing. I empty the non-surf side sac and keep the center bag filled.

As Jesse says, there is only one fill pump. If you open your v-drive cover, you will see it on the starboard side. It is plumbed to the manifold and then goes to the three bags from there.

Thanks Al. I need to find a minute to get the 750lb bag. I am going on vacation this Friday and returning next Saturday.

RBC,
Do you have air in your center bag? I have to burp mine often due to long tow so i don't get as much in it if I don't burp it, but empty of air, It seems to get pretty full and not be constricted anywhere...
The LSV seems to get a much better wake with more weight upfront!

I definately get the air also, and easy fix for it is if you tow a long distance to put a piece of masking tape over the empty port on the side of the boat. I'm going to put a check valve in the empty line that should take care of it. I started using a tube air pump to pull the air out so it would be completely empty. It still needs more weight in the front especially if you have 5 or 6 ppl in the back of the boat also. I'll post pics and details when I get the system installed.

I'm halfway there, I got the valve, manifold and fittings at home depot and I've got the bag in the boat. I have to get the bilge hose, 1 more bilge pump and 2 thru hull dump ports and I'll be set. so far I'm still under 200.00. Anyone have a bilge pump suggestion, I only need around 500 gph since I'll be running 2, and I need it to come with a stainless mounting bracket to mount it to the floor, similar to the stock setup. I'm going to run 2 so It will empty quicker with as little intervention from me as possible. if I only run one it will leave water in the opposite side of the bag and I'll have to manually pick it up to drain it. I want it to function completely with a switch.

RBC, I am in the process of collecting all my parts to upgrade to a Gravity III Ballast and just purchased a Rule 1100gpm (same as OEM)from Bullet lines thru Ebay for $29 + $13 for shipping.
I also got switches on Ebay for $25 + $6 shipping and fittings from flow-rite for less than fly high fittings. The linksare below, the Ebay auctions are over now but they will list again and I bet they will comunicate directly with you if you send a message thru Ebay.

Here are 3 starter pics, everything is fitting well, I was concerned with the cupholders rubbing the bag so I inflated the bag with air. They will be fine as long as I cut the drain tube off the bottom. I already have the switch and the location. I'm going to use the switch for my non existent docking lights. I ordered the boat without them but they were nice enough to pre wire the boat for them. my only issue so far is with the fill port on the sack. the empty port is on the back at the bottom but the fill is directly on the top and it is going to hit the bottom of the front seat when the bag is full. Heck if this install goes easy on me I might get around to that swivel seat mount also...

Unless you're replacing a broken factory valve (and even if you're doing that), don't bother with the sprinkler valves. You're wasting time and money duplicating a system that doesn't work very well.

If you're replacing the valves AND pumps, ditch the valves altogether and go to one fill pump for each bag. You'll cut the fill time for the system in half, and overhaul will cost you less money.

How do you feed the 3 pumps? Do you Tee off the inlet hose twice?
