I am well into Season 2 on the boat, figured I would poast the good, bad and the other I have ran into.
2007 mobius lsv, just coming up on 100hrs.
Lost bolt that attaches steering cable to rudder(kinda intresting under way) This bolt was installed from the bottom up(nut on top) and must have vibrated lose. bolt fell out and no steering. Fix was tighten nut but to install the bolt from the top (nut on bottom) to date has not vibrated lose again but if it did would still have steering just a nut in the bottom of boat.
Fuel vapor lock. This was resolved by moving the "Hot" lines that cross over and by the fuel pump away from the pump (tie wraps) If it dose ever vapor lock on you a wet towel place on the pump and in just a couple minutes will clear.
Ballest bag will not empty. This was the front bag, Couldnt reach into the locker to feel the pump. Fix- The way the wiring loom under the dash was attached, A bump caused the hot wire to unplug from the contact point. More tie wraps and a touch more slack all better.
Bilge pump poor preformance. The pump would work but occasionally very slow/low volume. Fix - there are several nobs/ attachments /engine accessories that were not sanded primed or preped properley when the coat of black was shot on several parts. they Flake off (paint flakes) from about 1/2 inch down to very small. These end up in the bilge area (after washing ect). the tangel in the impellar for the bilge pump and cause trouble. This pump snaps out of its housing and can be cleaned very easly and its like a new one.
Trailer lights. Ughhh this needs to be addressed by the manufacture my trailer had the crimp/add a wire connector on all of the conections. I get the trailer wet three day a week or better. wet then dry ect. started having trouble end of the season last year. Corrosion in all conections Finally this spring I couldnt keep the lights working. I removed the wiring and installed new with all sodered and sealed conections. On the plus side each light has its own ground to the trailer near the light!
Backup Break release. fought them and fought them! sometimes they would work and then nothing. Always when you get into the tight spot and need to back up they would lock up. I chased grounds and conections, added ground wires ect. Finally replaced the selinoid that bypasses the surge breaks. Wow these are nice!
Oil Changes. I had bought one of them drill extractors to do oil changes with. This is real good in theory but I didnt have any luck getting this to work very good. Kinda messy and very slow. I orderd a top side changer for the next go around will see how that works.
This is not a complaint list I LOVE my boat!! Little things are to be expected Just thought I would poats my troubles list and perhaps somone else will have a place to start looking if they have simular troubles.
