Important for ALL 2007 and 2008 8.1L Owners.

There has been an ECM calibration update for ALL 2007 and 2008 model Skier's Choice/Indmar 8.1L engines. Please contact your dealer and have the calibration update completed as soon as possible. Registered owners should be getting a letter in the mail regarding this issue. Failure to have the calibration update completed could result in poor engine performance and in some cases catestrophic engine failure.

We are very sorry for this problem. We know it may be a major inconvenience but the recalibration only takes a little time and will help ensure a trouble-free boating season.

Dumb Question.How do you know if you have the 8.1L engine? I have the 325 assualt Indmar engine. I thought it was a 5.7 on the the OBV 07.

The 8.1 is a 425 hp engine I beleive. If you have 325hp, you have 5.7. Also, I believe the 8.1 has only been available in the XLV

Few, i have had enough engine false alarms, i did find the engine manual and you are correct. I have the 5.7.

How long has this been out?

Friend at dealer a month ago, maybe two, would he have been in a window to get checked out?

This may be a problem since he is out of town and Cub Scout reunion is the weekend he gets back.

When did they start putting the 8.1 in the Moombas? I thought there was only the old reliable chevy 5.7 (chevy 350) and the new 6.0 block?
