View Full Version : Wake trim plate not moving

Last night we hung the life jacket over the steering wheel to dry out and today the boat was dead. The jacket ended up pushing on the wake plate trim tab lever and ran the pump until the battery died.

So after I jumped the boat, the wake plate pump would run when the lever was pulled up or pushed down, but the plate doesn't move.

Over travel limit switch or burned out solenoid? Anyone have ideas?

The other thing that's weird is that I think the lever was pushed down by the jacket, but the wake plate is in the up position ( big wake so no slalom skiing). So what I don't know is whether the up/down on the lever has been reversed from the plate direction the whole time or if it has a failure mode of some type.

Thanks in advance.

Off the top of my head I'd say either the cylinders have locked into position or the motor is still fine and the pump is burnt up. Check the fluid level in the pump and maybe try give the actuators a little help by hand. Since you say the pump is still running when you use the switch that's all I can think of.

I replaced the solenoid on the pump and I am now back in business.
