Reading in your post that you have '04 OUtback LS, yes.
My previous boat was 04 Outback and I replaced the speakers with Polk db650s and the sound was much better.. Stock Magnadynes were not so impressive in '04!

Do you have an amp? If so then yes, if not I wouldnt bother as it wouldnt make much of a differance.

If your gonna add an amp than id definatley go with the polks or something like them that will match up to your amp. I have no experiance first hand with them but have heard nothing but good things. Most 6.5" speakers will do between 30-80 watts rms. Im running pioneer 4 ways in mine and love them. A bit cheaper if your on a budget but you really cant go wrong with the polks. I would get an amp that will do 60-80 watts rms a channel for those speakers.
