You asked for it, you got it. Free-riding at its best is coming back to Monroe, LA this summer. The event will begin on July 10, continue until July 13, and will be located at the original site for Louisiana Spring Fling, Moon Lake Marina.
For those of you who have never been to one of the original LSF's, you can't imagine how great the wakeboarding can be. Moon Lake is a bay off of the Ouachita River (pronounced washitaw by the locals). The Ouachita River offers miles and miles of uninterupted waterways with sandbars all along the way to stop on if you wish.
The event, named Moon Lake Re-aWAKEning or MLR for short, will primarily be a free-ride event with a possible nontraditional contest on the Saturday of the event; possibly a phattest 180, best trick, or highest ollie, haven't decided yet, so if you have a preference, let us know.
BTW, for those of you who have been to this area before, you're in for a nice treat. The parking area and boat launch were closed all last summer for repairs, thus the name "Moon Lake Re-aWAKEning". Wait until you see what we have now. Ample parking, a much wider boat launch, and even a floating dock now grace Moon Lake.
Unfortunately, this will not be a Skier's Choice or Moomba only event. We will be allowing "other" boats to come.

DOUBLE-UP Contest
Well, it has been argued and discussed and even voted upon in some areas, but it's now settled. Moon Lake Re-aWAKEning (MLR) will support a double-up contest. The contest will be held on the Saturday during MLR; that's July 12 for those of you who haven't been paying attention. Registration will begin at 12:00 noon with the double-ups to begin around 1:00pm. Each participant will be given up to 2 chances to throw down the biggest, baddest, most tweaked out trick they are capable of throwing off of a double-up. Judging will be performed primarily by the contestants, along with some input from the event coordinators.

Tentatively, the double-up contest will be pulled by Louisiana Wakeboarding dot Com's Mastercraft X-Star.

Along with best double-up trick, other facets that will be acknowledged will be biggest air and hardest fall.
