View Full Version : Boat Cover Question (regarding space around tower)

Anyone know of a good way to make the boat cover more waterproof around the Tower Poles? Lots of water gets in through this space, smrtz and myself are trying to think of a way to minimize this. My neighbors Nautique, has little socks the almost look like that go up the tower about 4 inches with a tie string to tighten them..

Sorry if thats a crap description of the problem and the Nautique product... But I am sure you know what I am talking about ... :D

I had a RANKIN cover built for mine and we have no problems with leaks, You could go to there site and see how they address the tower thing and have your local sew shop make the same on your cover. Just a thought....Good luck

I like your idea of the zippers, I was thinking about velcro. Here is my question. What did you do with the challenge of having the so called draw string to pull the cover tight. How do you fit this over your tower mounts without unmounting the tower?

I have velco along the length of the flap that goes around the drawstring and I disconnect the ring to remove the cover. The hardware is off the boat about an 1/2 inch and the fabric rap around it ensures it doesn't rub on the boat. Originally, I had a Moomba cover that came with the boat and I had an upholsterer modify it for the tower. He basically did the same thing that you see here.
