vinyl cleaner

I have white vinyl seats and cant get them perfectly clean. Seems the dirt gets trapped in the little indentations. Is there a cleaner that will get my seats back to looking brand new?

I don't know about getting them clean, but I've heard that the best thing for maintaining vinyl upholstery is baby oil.

When I went to the boat show, I bought a product called "Vinyl Sauce" by Boat Bling. it works great. I have been working in the boat installing the new stereo and getting the seats dirty. I tried a little and boy did it come out nice.

Ditto the Magic Eraser. That is the only thing I've ever found that would get the dirt out of the grooves in the white vinyl. They work great.

Ian - Baby Oil is a wives tale. Leave it in the baby's room. It is too oily, and it will run off the seats onto the carpet and make a slippery mess. It does very little to actually moisturize the vinyl and nothing to provide UV protection (if you know any hotties that tan - they will also explain it is a UV Amplifier that makes you tan faster!) You do not want tan (dried out) seats - you want soft, supple seats.

Use 303 to protect - best stuff ever.

I think the majority of this board will agree on 2 things.
1) Perfect pass is worth the $ if you can.
2) 303 is the best thing for protecting the boat's surfaces.


303 is available from any online boating or watersports stores, and in most major marine dealers.

A good soft brush does wonders, but the magic eraser does even better.

what product by 303 is best for the vinyl? the specific "303 Fabric and Vinyl Cleaner" or the "303 Aerospace Protectant"?

edit: i guess 1 to clean and 1 to protect right? ;)

Guys, I've used it all with the exception of the Hot Sauce. The Majic Eraser works good, but it warks way better when coupled with a good cleaner. I tried the 303 and it was my favorite until a couple of weeks ago when I ran out. I was looking in the cabinet and found some cleaner I forgot I had. It's called Advanage, without the T. My wife bought it off a door to door salesman one day, which I threw a fit about because I hate people coming to my house to sell me stuff. Let me tell you, that is the baddest cleaner on the face of the earth. My boat had been sitting up for 5 months and everything was covered with mildew and mold. I sprayed a seat, and with a singe swipe of the majic eraser, it looked just as good as the day I bought it. I've never been able to get my seats that clean. It is safe for vinyl and expensive, but I highly suggest that you try it. You will be blown away.

Its a bit abrasive and will dry out your upholstry but soft scrub works great along with magic erasers for getting things clean. Might sound wierd but I use my mini buffer and some good wax on my upholstry a couple times a season, seems to work and keeps it from drying out.

The 303 is the best for spraying on after you clean your boat's interior no doubt.

A couple of cleaners we've tried with great success are the Majic Erasers, now available in 4 different forms. Simple Green,(biodegradable), and another door to door sales man product HY-Pro also biodegradable.

If you try something new just be careful of its effects and test in on out of the way spot first.
