Now that my stereo install is done, I'm looking to add this upgraded wired remote at the driver's seat and move the factory remote back to the transom.

Has anyone installed this remote? Was it worth the money (and time if there was anything difficult about the install)?

Will this cover the recessed area where the factory remote is installed? If it displays ipod info I'd buy it as well. 85 bucks doesnt seem too bad.

Tyger,

How would this remote connect to the head unit? Looks like it has a plug with a round head on it - does it connect to the CD changer plug?

I think that remote is only compatible with the larger Kenwood marine head unit (I forget the model number) that has the fold-down flap.

Anyone know if I can use this with the factory KDC-MP238 deck? Will it plug in to the decks changer plug? (round plug) or, Can I cust and splice wires together to make it work? I have the factory Kenwood 238 deck, and those crappy Moomba wired remots really suck. Hoping I can make the KTS-RC100MR work with the kenwood 238. Called Kenwood, they were no help. afterthey told me the "RC100MR is not a Kenwood product" humph!

The RC100MR will only work with the Kenwood KTS-300MR and KTS-400MR, both along with the RC100MR are discountinued products.

Thanks, thought that might be the case, I cust into the cable, there were 6 or 7 small wires, ass opposed to 4 wires with the aeware remote. What is a good replacement for the aeware remote, a 4 wire set up. There is a kenwood remote smaller, simpler with no lcd, that has 4 wires, (KR/C50/60) my only question, do the buttons work better than the aeware remote? I have to find a remote that works wit hthe factory set up. Anyone want a 100MR remote?? I have both ends, but cut the cable on it... $30 if anyone wants...

I think the replacement is the KCA-RC107MR
compatible with the Kenwood KMR-700 Marine iPod/USB Receiver (up to 3 remotes can be connected)
and the KMR-440U Marine CD Receiver (only 1 remote can be connected).

its an 8 pin connector

In my 2010 lsv I have the MB Quart system and this will cover the (holes for) mb Quart remotes

Nah, that aint it... This system just has 4 wires, yelow, black, red, and a signal wire.. I think the KCA-RC50MR or RC60 would work... I dont know...

You are correct the 107 remote will not work for you. But either the 50 or 60 will. There is a thread on here about upgrading your kenwood deck and keeping the same factory remotes.
