Well, I finally got around to cleaning her up for the summer so I figured I'd post some pix. I added a heater, sub & amp, and a second battery over the winter. My wife and I just took it out yesterday for the first time this year. So glad I live in California!!!

Nice looking boat! Did you use a "free air" sub and how does it sound?

Did you install the heater yourself? I am thinking of doing the same (except a two outlet unit) and am thinking of installing it the compartment under the seat behind the driver's seat like you did. Can you post some pics showing where you installed the heater unit?

It's just an MTX-RT10 sub that I have a pair of from another car. I was thinking that I'd upgrade later, but it sounds just fine being pushed by a Kicker 300.1 amp (200 watts RMS). I've read all the posts about the open-air thing, but this sub really does the lob!

I did the heater install myself. I mounted the unit where the factory does, opposite the "sub enclosure", accessed throught the front drivers side seat.

I just put the boat back in storage for the week. I can take more pix on Friday if that'll work for you. Let me know if you have any other questions.

Looks good. Did you just run the heater hose up high under the dash and along/under the starboard gunnel?

What did you use to cut the holes for the heater outlets?

I have a sub and amp from my car that I don't use anymore and would love to have it transferred to my boat.

So, I'm curious how much did it costed you to have the sub, amp, cutting out the floor to install the sub and 2nd battery installed if you don't mind me asking??

I actually ran the heater hose in the channel under the floor of the drivers side. There are molded "chases" along each side of the boat that you can access by removing the back seat and the v-drive cover box. From there, the drivers side channel goes up to the bulkhead box (or as I call it "the sub box". So if you don't have a sub to pull out and gain access into that box, it'll be tough to pull any hoses through there.

A 4" holesaw in a variable speed drill did the trick for the Hot-Tubes. Put a few strips of masking tape over the gelcoat where you're gonna drill. Drill a 1/4" pilot hole. Make sure from the back that it'll work there or else re-drill your pilot hole. I had to lower the one under the drivers seat after I drilled the pilot hole and saw that the duct tube wouldn't quite fit that high. So I just drilled a new pilot hole about a 1/2" lower. Then put your hole saw against the tape and drill slowly at first and you can speed it up after the hole gets started. When finished pull of the rest of the tape and you should have a laser sharp edge with no chipping. All four of mine came out sweet!!

I did all the work myself. The only cost was for the different components I installed.

Sorry I can't really give you an estimated cost for that kind of work cuz I don't know. Try talking to car stereo shops or your local Moomba dealer.

The GPS is mainly for the Delta. There are thousands of miles of waterways that run from the Sierras through Sacramento and out to the San Francisco Bay. It's very easy to get lost out there.

I live 5 minutes from the Sacramento and San Juaquin Rivers (part of the delta) and still need the GPS sometimes!!!

Besides, it's kinda fun knowing exactly where you are, where you've been, and where you can go.

I was actually asking about the hot air flex hoses that run from the heater unit to the pull out tubes. Did you route those hoses up high under the dash and the starboard side gunnel to the pull outs behind the driver's seat? Is there still pretty good air flow at the vents considering the long run from the fan to the outlet?

My thought was to install the heater unit in the storage compartment right next to the vent, but I like the factory placement better as you don't lose any storage space.

Oh, sorry.

Yeah, I routed them just like that and the total length of the run for each rear outlet was 6 ft. because thats how long they come in the kit and I didn't cut them down. The air flow is great. Just as much as the front two.

I'll post pix on Friday or Saturday. It's supposed to be in the mid 80s this weekend so I'll be out playing most of the time!

What did the BOAT cost or the heater? The heater was about $550 but I did the install. The boat we bought brand new last year in February. I probably shouldn't leak out what I paid for it. Let's just say that our local Moomba dealer's general manager's wife is GREAT friends with my wife. I know the list price and I know the dealer's price, and my price was a LOT closer to the dealer's price!

I just returned my Newt Shooter. The juice they sent me was bad. I am getting a new shooter, juice, and a few more sprayers. I love this stuff. I mounted mine towards the rear of the same compartment. How does your work were it is located?

The stuff works great. I just had one little problem with the juice itself. I called the company and they replaced it right away.

Yeah, this stuff is great. My dispenser works fine where it's mounted. The air bubbles will get worked out as the season progresses, but they aren't very tough to bleed out.

Beats the hell out of "hey, where's that little bottle of lube?!?!"
