Man I swear the more questions I get answered about this ballast system the more pop up. On ballast systems that utilize fly high bags and aerator pumps , how do you have the bags hooked up. I.E. which hole fills drains or vents.

The picture you have has the bag upside down. The end of the bag with only one hole is for the cap that you can remove to burp the air out when the bag is filled, so it has to be the highest point.

On the other end. Your supply line brings water into the top fitting. Thus the bottom fitting is for your evac line.

Thats makes since to me except for the fact that I thought moomba and supra used aerators. The bag has quick connect fittings mounted in the side with two holes. I thought the aerator styles had the drain pumps hooked right up to the bag?

MD, I am not sure I am following the aerator you are referring to. On my current V-drive setup which is the same as the Moomba/Mobius LSV, the top fitting is hooked to the input line coming off the ballast pickup manifold. The bottom fitting is connected to the evac pump and that line and port on the boat also act as the overflow line.

That is the setup for both my rear bags and as well as the bow sac.

Actual venting of air in the bag is done manually by removing the single end cap and manually burping the bag. This is how it was explained to me and how it was demonstrated to me. If this information is wrong and there is a way to automatically vent the bag, I would be interested.

To vent your bags autmatiically all you would have to is T into the empty line from your hole that has the plug in. Super Easy. The first shows the bag like you guys described with the side that has two holes being the empty and fill side. Which I thought was the way it was except for the fact that side has two of the factory quick connect fittings cement into place. I has planned on just screwing my empty pump right into the bag. Like shown. The other pic is of the planned ballast system. The drawings are a little ghetto I did them in paint pretty quickly and I ripped off part of one of them from the flyhigh website.

Sorry for adding any confusion in earlier replies. You have done more research than I have and I would like at that hose from the overflow ports to the drain lines in the boat.

So thanks for your help.
