How many of you use a trampoline to pratice your wakeboarding moves and what are some of the moves/exercises you do?

Hey Matt, we use a trampoline all the time to practice mainly our gainers for the Hydrofoil. We take an old ski rope and tie it the telephone pole just to make it more realistic! I talked to a guy last year that put up the poles on the side of the trampoline with the harness that you strap up with(the ones you see when the Circus comes to town)(Yes I live in a small area :D ), anyways, he was a pretty serious rider and said he became really good with just a short amount of practicing. I could see how it could really help, Once your body becomes used to the movements you'd probably be throwing Tantrums by the end of the summer if your not already???

I use the tramp all the time, practice raley's, flips, spins, and mobes.

It's a great tool to get initial motions down and a general feel for the trick before you hit the water.

do you wear a board while doing these tricks? what happens when you don't quite make it around? maybe i will try this out, then i might be able to land something on the water?

I personaly do not use a board, The only thing I think straping the board on would really help is getting those tricky grabs into your tricks

I've looked into the guru boards myself and they seem a bit on the expensive side, but a great idea.

my son (16) spends (spent)alot of time on tramp doing flips, spins, etc. one night a few weeks back he walked in and and gave us this big grin that looked like hee-hew... he had come down on his knee and snapped one of his front teeth off, clean break, and some how caught the piece in his hand when it fell out. After the shock and numb feeling from the blow subsided he was in major pain, emergency call to dentist and was told to come in, probally an exposed nerve. A 10:30 p.m. partial root canal, and pain was gone. Still snaggled tooth, had to go see a specialist on Mon. this was Sat. p.m. He did the remainder of the root canal, by then the 1/2 tooth left was turning dark and had to have a bleaching procedure done. About 4-5 days of waiting, more bleaching, more waiting... and finally the orginal denist glues tooth piece back on and suggest staying off tramp ! Had just bought it for Christmas, so tramps not getting much use and we got a dead tooth and about $1500.00 light on the hip... be careful, stuff happens...

Couple years ago I took a knee to the face killing a tooth and busting my sinuses up to the point where I spat out blood for 2 weeks straight. BUT that was while wakeboarding. Came up a little short on a tantrum.

You can get hurt being out the or on the tramp its the risk of the sport, but I think the tramp greatly reduces a risk of injury while trying new flips, because it can give you a sense of what your doing.
