Costco of all places carries a 6pk LED kit that includes 6 12" LED strips that change up to 8 colors on demand for $50 (seems like good deal), it also has a mic installed in the main input that causes it to either remain at a constant light or it will bump with the music from what I understand. Anyways, as I posted earlier still looking for things to do to the boat and this would be a cheap niffty install if I could pull it off. My question is has anyone installed LED's and if so do yout have any pics? A brief explination of how you powered it up would be nice too. Example did you connect it directly to your battery, or splice with other power source?

You can get any led's to bump to the music. Just wire 'em up to the speakers instead of a power source. Try it, you'll be amazed!

I decided to post some pics of what I accomplished today  I couldn't be happier with the outcome. Excuse the pics but this was a breeze! $50 well spent!

Very cool, I believe the Supra's and Mobius's have a similar option from the factory, nice work!

jdsharpe57, I put 7 led's in the boat 2 up front, 2 on the sides(main seating area), and one under the driver seat. also two on the bottom of the light bar that kinda lights up the whole interior. The two on the lightbar have a seperate switch. all are red so as to not lose your night vision. I run all of them off a single togel switch.

JD, you gots to start resizing your pics a bit, it takes forever for me to see them.
On the bright side (get it  ), I love the LED's. Deerfield was talking about putting some on the outside of his boat for under the water. That way when he was out cruising at nigh it would make his boat glow in the water. That seemed like a pretty cool idea to me.

Pics are up. So how exactly did you wire them? Did attach them to the speakers?

Sweet LED's man! So you just spliced them into the speakers huh? How do the actual LED's attach?

Those are nice. Sounds like a fairly easy install too. If you can take some pictures of how you wired it that would be great!
Thanks!

No,
Someone (i believe it was Butta) mentioned wiring them into my speakers but I wired them into my courtesy light toggle on my dash. These came with a little mic that you can increase the sensitivity on to make it bounce with the music. I prefer the steady color personally, but cool feature none the less. and Yes I will post some pics of them in the daylight either later today or tonight. I still need to find a home for the little remote deally thingy that it came with, I'm scared to death to drill a clean little hole in my throttle linkage wall (ideal location really) maybe tommorow and a couple cold ones later I'll finally have the courage I need to do this  I'll post pics either way!

I saw somewhere a plastic ring with LED's inside it that fit around the cupholder. You slid the cupholder thru the ring and back in to the hole so perhaps a 1/4" ring of light was around the lip of the cup holder. I was thinking of something like that for the front two cupholders. Anybody see anything like that?

Ain't that a fact
That looks really really good on your boat. Do those ligths all run off of 12 Volts and then you just by-pass the transformer? Do you NEED to hook up the little remote?
I looked everywhere on costco.com but couldn't find them. I found them on ebay I think ( http://cgi.ebay.ca/CYRON-LED-Lighting-Kit-for-Plasma-LCD-TV-LOW-14-99-SHIP_W0QQitemZ170200688301QQihZ007QQcategoryZ1499Q QssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem ), but shipping to Canada is like $30 so I was hoping Costco had them still.
Thanks.

501,
Yes it did come with a 12 volt power transformer that I cut off leaving basic Red and Black wires which obviously simplifies things, but yes I still use the remote that it came with to opperate the lights (switches colors and modes) I know that Costco almost literally does not carry the same stuff online that they carry in the store maybe some same stuff, but if getting your hands on this is important to you PM me and I'll help get them to you for what I would pay to ship them and buy them, pretty sure I could get out cheaper than $30 shipping! And yes that link is exactly what I purchased.

Unbelievable, you paid 30 bucks, and somebody bought them on Ebay for 59.00 + shipping. That's just nuts :?

I think hands down Spyder you go with blue! I kinda want to go with blue cuz it looks so good but I will stay with red to match the boat.

I picked up 8 LED pods (3 LEDs each) from superbrightleds.com (I think that's right). Will be installing in my grey/blue XLV soon. They are blue lights. I'll post pics once I get it going.
Hi jdsharpe57! What a tight knit community this is, after offering great advice on where to pick up lights yyou offer to help get them to me as well.
That sure is great of you to offer to help me out, I would just feel bad about you spending your time to help me out.
I think the idea of lights you can change the colors of would just be kind of fun. And the lights look just great on your boat.
Now I can't wait for summer nights.

Now that we've got our boat on order I am planning to stop by Costco to see if I can find these for my boat, very very cool!

I stopped by Costco today and they had tons of these lights, thanks again for the tip!
One question; the transformer that it comes with is for AC, did you have to purchase a seperate DC transformer, or did you just cut the end off of the plug and wire directly to the power source?
jdsharpe57

I cut it off and wired Red and Black directly into power source Ian. Let me know how your install goes, and don't forget the pics
