Anyone use the Boat Buddy latch?
My 1993 Mastercraft came with one and Boatmate offers it as an option, just wondering if anyone still uses them?
My trailer did not come with one but they are easy to add, just replace the bumpstop/roller.

I have used them with other peoples boats and my opinion is that I don't care for them.
I feel that it causes nose damage over time plus you might have new
people that want to help you load the boat that may be over confident in
driving and accidentailly damage boat. Its far better for the boat in the
long run to drive on trailer, then slowly back to the nose and crank the
handle tight. Get your self a stutz roller, they are the yellowee clear
NONE mar-ing. This is the best, least expensive solution. If you have
black marks on the nose that are suburn to get off use acetone. Its safe
on gelcoat but you have to rewax the cleaned area.

Where do you ski?
We are mostly up at Center Hill, but go to Tims Ford occasionally.

My wife and I swap out backing the trailer or driving the boat, so I am not concerned with other people being involved. I like the ability to quick latch and pull out without anyone getting out ofthe truck or the boat.
Where I grew up everyone had one, 20 years later I am back into boating and I did not seea single trailer with one last season.
So I was just wondering>>>>>

After having 2 MC boats with Boat Buddies, I couldn't think of not having one. I picked up one from ebay NIB. When my trailer (and boat) get made (April), I will be installing it on the trailer.
It just makes loading so much easier.
