Boat Canvas

I bought a used 2002 outback this past fall and it came with an aftermarket cover that neither looks good or fits well.

I'd like to put either a factory or factory quality sunbrel canvas put on. My prior boot had snaps to accept the canvas, do moobas also? Is it a matter of just drilling and putting the pop-rivet like snaps in using a template? My boat will stay in the water so I'm thinking of using the cheesy canvas over the new to make it last.

Any know the cost on the factory canvas?

It doesn't have a tower. I was going to add one but I'm pretty sure in a couple years I'll upgrade to a new LSV so for now I'm going to continue using the skylon.

you can check with anthony cooper (parts guru) at skier's choice and see the price.

honestly i think your better off going to skiboatcovers.com or having a local canvas hope make you one.

You need to read the posts on the factory covers as many were disappointed with the long term durability. There is other fabrics to consider also such as "Top Gun" which is more expensive than Sunbrella but will last longer. When using two covers you have to make sure that air can still pass between them otherwise you will get moisture sandwiched between the covers and start getting mildew which can discolor your good top along with accelerating the rotting process.

Thanks for the replies. Sent the ebay link a question to see if they make a cover for the 02 outback.

Ed G, from the moomba table on skiboatcovers.com is the 02 Outback LS the same hull as a plane jane 02 outback?
