We went to the boat show and I was trying to please my wife and go with just the boat show options and not spend much money. I lost her for a minute and I look up and she is in a LSV that has the z-cargo rack. She motions me into the boat and says this is awesome make sure you order it!!! Our boat is to supposed to ready in early March and we can't wait!!!

Great looking boat.
I think you set a trend last year with your ALL blue boat. They are using that in their ads/catalogs this year and lots of folks on here have been ordering that combo!
Beautiful Boat!

I think you're right.
I'm very happy with the appearance of the boat so that's why I ordered exactly the same, with some extra's appearance package, cargo rack.
It's even better in the water

The funny thing is, I put interior leds on the boat last year and that is now standard on all Moomba's

Did you say LPG converted? Does it run on propane!?!?!?!

The volume control is a self-made Pac lc1 and I use it for the towerspeakers, works perfect.

Here in Holland is it much cheaper to drive on lpg, this is my third Mobius on LPG and it is great. 2 gastanks(bottles) in racks make an extra 200 pounds ballast, no significant lost of horsepower, and a liter fuel cost 1,48 euro and a liter LPG cost 0,55 eurocent.
On fuel 12-14 mpg on LPG 16-18 mpg.

pics will follow.

Too bad LPG isn’t that much cheaper than regular unleaded here in the States!

Nice boat!!!

Pretty boat!!!!!
We wanted to go all blue too on our new LS but with the Florida sun it would be hot if you touched it and I was afraid it would fade fast too! Actually Rick Tinker helped me to decide it would not be a wise move! But it sure does look GREAT!

The standard airfilter is replaced with a LPG carburator and special LPG airfilter

The tankframes are custom made from stainless steel, and I still have the full capacity of the ballast bags

I'm no expert on LPG .........not by a long shot. But I do remember several years back when it was popular in the US for contractors to install LP tanks in trucks. The set them up so they could switch back and forth between LP and gasoline.

One contractor in particular claimed that LP burned so much cleaner that the oil would look new when he changed it. He also claimed to have trucks with 500,000 miles on them.

I was under the understanding however, the LP didnt' burn as hot and therefore negatively effected performance.

Anyone have any insights??

You are correct. LPG burns cleaner. You can pass the state emissions test using LPG alone without any other kind of emissions crap on the vehicle. You do sacrifice some power with LPG, but you used to could advance the timing to compensate. One common problem that plagued LPG vehicles is that it would dry out all the rubber seals and o-rings in the carburetors, and over time would burn exhaust valves, if you didn’t switch over regularly to gasoline and burn up a tank before switching back to LPG.

I had an old ’78 F-150 4X4 that had a 400 big block with headers and an edelbrock manifold with Holly 650 vacuum secondaries. I put a 150-gallon propane tank in the bed and converted it to LPG and gas. I advanced the timing to 12-15 degrees above TDC, and that thing ran like a scalded dog!!! My son was around 6 years old at the time, and he thought of it as our monster truck! It had a 4’ lift with 33’s all the way around! I bought it for 600 dollars minus the propane set up! I got it right after my divorce, because the wife got everything else!!! It was all I could afford at the time! HA!!! Ah... the memories!

I have some of the same impressions of LP gas, and remember when it was the in thing for commercial vehicles to be on LP. Several cities have taxi cabs on LP gas.

My exerience comes from LP Generators in RVs. Several years ago, RV Mfgs offered LP generators since the large class As already had large LP tanks. They soon found that LP generators burned twice as much fuel as gasoline generators, and were very inefficient. Today generators run on the same fuel as the main power plant for the RV, gas or diesel.

So I am surprised by the numbers here that LP is more efficient and produces enough power.

Hey On Board,

That’s a sweet LPG set up! I like how you still have your ballast capacity with the tanks!

Hey Membrain

Thanks for the info. I didn't even consider advancing the timing to counteract the power loss. Does it totally negate the loss of power?

It could be why you were toasting exhaust valves too........ 8)

Mastermind,

If you run on propane all the time and nothing else, you will dry up any rubber grommets and o-rings in the carb and fuel system. I don’t have any experience with fuel injection or fuel rails and LPG. If you run the engine with the timing advanced too far and don’t run a tank of gas thru it every two or three tanks of LPG used, then it will smoke your exhaust valves in no time!

Advancing your timing won’t compensate for the power loss 100%, but it is almost unnoticeable; at least it was in my case..

If I can remember correctly, propane burns at a higher temp, but has a lower octane rating as opposed to gasoline. Gas, on the other hand burns at a lower temp, but has a higher octane rating, which equals more ponies!!! Gas will lubricate the fuel system and o-rings and rubber grommets, which keeps them from drying out and cracking and leaking!

It’s been a long time since I had an LPG vehicle, but I think this is all correct!? Propane was 35 cents a gallon when I had my Ford Truck vs. a dollar or just over a gallon for gas! Since Propane is now considered a heating fuel (I think that’s correct), our Govt is taxing the hell out of it, and it isn’t any cheaper than gasoline now! Same of Diesel Oil! This crap is a by-product of gasoline. A waste product…and our government is now making us pay more for a by-product than refined gas. How did they spin that on us!?!?! It is considered a heating fuel, and therefore is taxed appropriately! Boston Tea Party just popped in my mind for some reason HA! 8)

LPG s a great idea. I don't know about this burning up exhaust valve thing and economy. Toronto cab drivers have be running on LPG for years and many cabs go 400k on mileage with little or no problems. It is very popular in Europe due to the 4 - 6 buck a gallon price for fuel.

On Board, your boat is very cool, love the straight colour with all the sponsor decals, very trick 8)

For me the Pro's are: much cheaper, burns cleaner , higher octane 100,extra ballast(lpgtanks) 220 pounds
Con's are: Heavy LPG tanks have to change them every 3 hours ,Little lost of horse power +/- 10%,higher use of LP gas (mpg).

Because, I'm the owner of the wakeboardschool, the big pro for me is that it is much cheaper with the higher mpg.
Let's face it we all have to eat

With all my boats that I had running on (conventionel LPG systems) I never had any problems (only a few adjustment problems)

Hey OB,

Here's a question for you. I'm looking at the # of boards you have there. Your obviously good at what you do and have found a market. Are there a lot of people wakeboarding over there or does every one just pay you to go out? And if there are other ski boats over there what are they and who is the most popular :?:

Very nice boat! Great to see you have a little wakeboarder. I was looking at wakeside and noticed you have a ballist bag in you ski locker. Do you ever have the problem of this bag filling up too much and opening the hatch? Better yet it pops up the little Moomba handle? Once again very cool boat!

Tpomeroy,

Yes, I have the same problem. The bag is a little too tall for the ski locker. I ended up cutting about a half inch off the shaft of the Moomba handle and re-drilling the hole for the key ring thing. Now the ski locker lid starts to open and the t-handle stays in place. At that point, I dump out just enough for the lid to go back down and I'm good to go.

Wakeboarding is getting bigger over here and wakeboarding isn't cheap and not everybody can afford a boat and gear for there hobby. So with my school I can make it a little affordable

Most popular boats the same as in the US Moomba  Mastercraft,Malibu,Supra,Correct Craft, my dealer is a Moomba/Supra and Mastercraft dealer.

Yes this is my school's logo and I'm a qualified Wakeboard trainer/coach.
I do this for a living during the month's April until October.
and with a little sponsoring from Liquid force,TB-Boten and my own clothing shop American Image, I can make a good living from it.

check out my site www.onboardwakeboarding.nl you can get an impression of my shool in Holland and for more pics and info.

Yes my locker also pops open, I was thinking the same thing as cab13367 because you can puncture your sac. more ballast bigger wake
