At the boat show this weekend, there was a company selling wakekiting equipment (see wakekite.com). It's combination of wakeboarding and kiteboarding and allows you to get big air. I guess it was invented in the Northwest and a lot of the pics and videos were shot in the Portland area. Looks like a lot of fun. Cost for a complete rig was $1,300 (everything but the boat and the board). It comes with a trick handle that automatically disconnects from the mainline if you let go of the handle so that the kite and handle fall nearby and can be easily retrieved.
Anyone done this yet? They are going to have a demo day here in the Portland area later this spring and I will definitely give it a try.
