Fuel Filter replacement for a Mobius LSV

Does anyone have the part number for the Fuel Filter on a 2006 Mobius LSV? The numbers are on the bottom and I cant read it without removing the filter, and I don't want to take the filter off until I can ensure a local store has the part..

Looking for a part number or any sort of reference.

Also do you have do unhook the battery or any other advice prior to removing the filter. Do you have to worry about getting air in the line?

On my LS I just put a c clamp on the hose on either side of the filter and take the filter to a local auto parts store. From memory I think it's 3/8".

The fuel filter is a Carquest brand #86299, or Wix # 33299.

I am going to try and find out if any local stores in Ontario, Canada have parts like this.

that looks like the filter.

when i took it to a auto part store they about freaked at how large the in and out hose lines were. but they were able to cross reference it.

They also carry a FRAM model at walmart. It is a larger diameter filter with 3/8 inlet and outlet. It can't hurt to have more filter media as long as you have the clearance for it. My 02 had the larger filter which does not look like the one pictured. It is smooth on the sided without the "Crimp" in the middle. That looks like a small filter in the pic.

You can use one of the clear ones. As a matter of fact, if so inclined, you can change hose diameters and put the one of your wildest fantasies in place.

As long as the flow rate is maintained, should be ok.

In Canada the clear ones are not legal for marine application. Also if you change it out every 100 hrs like the manual says you really don't need to see whats going on inside.

so whats the technique to replacing one of these.. do i just undo the clamps and swap it out? what about gas going everywhere? what about air in the fuel lines? any tips?

I have a couple small c clamps that I use to pinch the line at either end of the filter. once I have these in place I loosen the hose clamps and replace the unit. I have never had a problem with air in the line.

I am assuming this filter is in addition to the fuel water separator. If so where would it be located on a Boomerang and how would I access it?
