Hey guys. I was wondering if anyone has ever erupted their eardrum while wakeboarding. If you have what happened to you. This happened to me this weekend. I over rotated on a flip and landed with my ear first.

Been there, done that. I ended up with a ruptured eardrum. It got infected, my ear rang for weeks, nasty stuff kept oozing out of it, and couldn't hear much out of it. Took about 4 weeks to heal but heal it did. No more ringing and I regained my hearing in the ear. Doctor said that some people don't.

Best of luck to you.

Just another good reason to wear a helmet with ear flaps!

Hope it heals up for you quick

Cheers

I had a 7 year old that was jumping the wake and he came a little short landed on the wake and rolled over on his ear. Bloody, big mess. back on the water in 3 weeks.

Wear a HELMET!!! I would rather look a little goofy than not be able to wakeboard for three weeks. Plus it really helps on those nasty falls where you hit your back first. I have taken a lot of hits that the helmet helped out with and I was able to keep boarding rahter than trying to get my wits back while sitting on the boat. Plus the helmet will help if you end up blowing out of your bindings and the board decides to use your head for a parking curb!

Yah a helmet would have helped me, when I faced planted and the board decided to hit the back of my head. Kept me out of the water for a week. Horrible part was I was the first one to ride and had to watch all my buddies ride while I sat holding a towl and ice to my head.
