After letting my boat float at the dock for a few days on vacation, I've got a waterline that I can't get off with a soft rag and elbow grease. Any suggestions for cleaning up the hull? Brushes, cleaners that won't damage the gelcoat? Thanks.

starbright hull cleaner works great. just make sure you wax afterwards.

also be carefull not to any on the wench strap. it will bleach it out.

Thanks for the advice. How do you apply it? Any need for a brush or anything?

spray bottle, sponge and some protective gloves. make sure you rinse when you are done and it will be sparkling clean.

There is a product out there called Slimy Grimy and it apparently works great and it not that toxic. A couple real fussy friends of mine swear by it, it come in a couple forms but the one they use is the concentrated powder that you mix yourself and spray on with any weed sprayer. I am going to try it this year for the first time so I'll let you know how it works for me. They have a website with some pretty good info, just Google the name.
