Just curious if anyone is from Canada on this forum. I'm in Calgary, which is in Alberta, you know, the place with all the oil!! Anyway, I'm envious of all the southern boat owners that get to wakeboard all year. Our season is from May until Sept if were lucky. Sucks to see our nice boats in the garage for 6 months of the year. Let's see where everyone is from!!

I'm also in Calgary. I have seen a few Moomba around, just not in the water. We mostly go into B.C or do Ghost lake early Saturdays and some week days.

great to see some canucks on the board! I spent 10 years in Saskatchewan at the U of S. the lakes up north are great, I wish I had would've had a moomba in school, but then it was hard enough finding enough money for food, never mind $150 a weekend for boat fuel!! now I'm in Calgary and usually go to Invermere BC on weekends or Ghost lake occasionally. I'll be there tomorrow actually, me and my yellow moomba!!

I'll be there pretty early and in my friends boat this morrning (8:00). Our boat is black and white with a pole. If its nice ou twe will be there on Wednesday evening.
I live in Toronto and have a 1 week old Moomba Outback.
I ski/wakeboard in the Holland River and in Muskoka.

A good time was had by all who attended.

I am in Ottawa, Ontario. I think that I have the only XLV for hundreds of kilometres... or is it leagues that we use here? Anyway, I know of one LSV somewhere around, and that's about it for Moomba's. I had to drive to Muskoka (5 hours) to test drive and buy my boat! I saw a listing for a dealer in Trenton -- that would have shaved it down to a mere 3 hours.
There is also a Moomba dealer about a half hour's drive east of Montreal, and another one near Tremblant, so there must be a bunch of customers in the central Quebec cottage country.
Ian
I just bought my Outback from the Trenton dealer. It was a 2 hour drive. They were quite easy to deal with.
I have a friend that lives in Kelowna, BC. He says I'm an honorary Canadian! :D I have been to a few lakes in BC. I wish I could go there every summer but the 1300 mile drive is a little too much with a boat.

There are afew of us in Calgary. I seem to notice a lot more Supras as oposed to Moombas but thats fine with me,I know what I payed and what they wanted for a Supra and have been in both and we are not missing much. We generally go South to Idaho for Hollidays and Little Bow or a little known fairly new resevoir near Nanton.Nice and quiet with very few other boats other than the odd fishing boat.No more clues as a couple of us consider this our semiprivate lake. :)

since there aren't many of us from Calgary on this site, it would sure be nice to 'share' that 'semi-private' resevoir with those of us who are tired of trying to wakeboard in 3 foot swells caused by the hundreds of boats on every other lake in Alberta!! (ps; we go to Little Bow too, it's nice in the evening, water can be like a sheet of glass!)

I've been to a place that sound's like the semi private lake in my friends boat and was sworn to keep on the low down. It was nice, but most of the lakes around here are very nice in the morrning and evenings. By the way I'm pretty sure I saw your boat (Wakevet) on Wednesday around 8:30 at Ghost. I just finished loading up due to the bugs, and to releive my baby sitter. Next time I'll be sure to say hi.

As to the semiprivate lake The name is Twin Valley Dam. We went yesterday and water level is down about a foot and a half and the water is very murky/weedy but still very skiable, just keep your mouth closed/weeds. Wondering about LittleBow hope to get out once more before winterizing What was or is it like now ?Do they drop the level ther too as its a irrigation lake/resevoir as well. 8)

We boat up in Muskoka but live in Mississauga, ON. There are a couple Mooba's on the lake but usually we are the only boat on the water which is sweet. Good to see other Canucks out there.
I heard from a yet to be confirmed source that there may be a slolam course near the mouth of the Holland River on Lake Simcoe.
Can anyone give me more details?
Thanks.

We have had our Outback for two years now. We spend most of our time at Winermere and Lake Okanagan - a bit further bu a lot less traffic on the water

I'll have to plan my next business trip up there during Wakestock next year!

I'll be in Halifax, NS, Canada evaluating some software Sunday through Wednesday this coming week. With that hurricane off the coast of NC and predicted to be in the area Sunday, not really looking forward to going.

Maybe I'll get lucky, tho

And the weather won't be that bad either.

Have been to Canada once, it was really nice. However, I moved to Panama City from Atlanta because it was too cold up there. Yes the boat is still sitting in the water behind the house. Water temp is about 75 F right now I guess. During the summer that lake gets up to 87 F. All is great except you have to always wonder where the alligators are. My wife was checked out by one a couple years ago. She put her jacket on and jumped in to steady our son on his first attempt at skiing. He did great and while pulling him she watched an 8 footer leave the bank and swim out to her. I returned just in time. Still I will take the alligators over that cold weather!

Barrie, Ontario here. Thinking of moving though up closer to my work, York Region. where do you guys ride on the holland river??? It looks like a decent place to ride. damn shame about winter up here, i like snowboarding, but doesnt compare to summer out on the water
I ski the length of the Holland river. It's starts right at the southern tip of simcoe. About halfway to Bradford, it branches and the west branch is straighter and calmer. Don't drink the water!!
I'm gonna try putting a portable slalom course in the river this summer.
What boat do you have?

I have an 03 mobius lsv gravity games edition. I dont do any slaloming, just wakeboarding and wakeskating. and the odd wakesurf session. the water does look pretty dirty in that river, does that stain your boat much?

You can't go wrong with a Moomba. After as long as I've had mine I still get good comments about her.

Thanks for the computer comment. I attribute it all to one of Murphy's Laws.

If you tinker with something long enough, it will break or misfunction.

Hi, I just actually signed on today for the first time. I live in Calgary as well, and have an '07 Mobius LS. I guess there are a few more of us out here than we realize! Reading theese sites just makes me itch to get out and play. I am thinking a trip to southern BC is in order in Aprill. I won't get in the water but a nice day a bit of cruising in the boat will help. Maybe I will see you guys out this year.

I'm also on Papineau Lake. I just ordered an Outback, it should be ready sometime in May. That'll bring the count up to 4 Moombas on Papineau Lake, and I've heard that someone else on the lake also ordered an Outback this winter.

Lots of Canucks!!! I am in a small town in the Southeast corner of BC called Cranbrook. 3 1/2 hours from Calgary, 45 mins. from the US boarder. We boat on Koocanusa Lake. 80+ miles of crystal clear water. The only problem is it is a resevoir and doesn't fill up untill June :? Lots of other lakes in the area though to tide me over!
