I usually wakeboard on Lake Dunlap and Lake Placid, and occasionally on Lake McQueeny and Canyon Lake. Dunlap and Placid stay glassey more often. These lakes are located near New Braunfels Tx Where does everyone else tear it up?

On a 12 mile stretch of the Willamette river, from Newberg to Wilsonville, just outside of Portland, OR. The neat thing about boarding on a river is that you never have to turn, unless your rider falls or drops off.

Got to love the Columbia River in Southeastern Washington. There are too many good spots to list. You can find a stretch of flat water every day if you know where to look.

Lake Hickory (Catawba River), North Carolina. If you can get there b4 10:00 in the morning (any morning) you really can't ask for better water.

Much like Outback 4, the Columbia and Snake Rivers. Bad thing about the rivers is it is colder than the lakes. The good thing is when your done with a pull the river takes you back to the start for another. I've sworn to secrecy with a few others on the very best places but they're not close to home or civilization for that matter.

Lake Chicot in Southeast Arkansas. It was once part of the Mississippi River but is now cut off. It's a big horseshoe 22 miles long that usually has a smooth spot somewhere and this time of year hardly anybody is on it. :)

Pike, where do you live that Lake Elsonor is only 1/2 hour away?

I temprarily lived 1/2 hour away from Lake Elsinor and I used to haunt that lake in a pair of Kawasaki stand-up jet skis. A red 550 and a white 440.

Coming from Florida, I never could get used to paying ramp fees or the ricer pwc's with their boom boom stereos.

Worked in Temecula for U.S. Filter and lived in Murrieta.

I loved that 2 mile commute!

I live in Anaheim, CA. I dont know what the lake was like when you were here but we pay launch fees.

Its not a bad lake just a bit "colorfull" They added a filtration pump a few years ago and apparently its getting better.

Budd Lake in a New Jersey... asmall little lake... almost always smooth, and like glass EVERY day after 5..... Maybe ten boats tops on the most crowded saturday, and NO marine police! Its very small, but oddly enough... its the largest NATURAL lake in NJ.

Occassionally we take a whip or two around the always overcrowded lake hopatcong, to play a game of "idiot-towing-a-water-tuber-slalom".

O4 Outback,
You should stop sometime. The lake may not have the reputation as some of the other lakes in AR, but for wakeboarding and skiing I'll take Chicot any day over one of the big lakes. Not many attractions other than the lake to draw people here, so most of the time it's not very busy.

How is it on Labor day? A Madhouse?

Probably not too bad. That is the opening weekend of Dove season so most will be hunting. It is a holiday but not as bad as the 4th. There will be a few, but this lake is rarely a madhouse.

Lake Hartwell on the GA/SC border. 56,000 acres of paradise. Smooth water can be found just about any time you want.

Cory Lake in Tampa. It's small, but I'm usually the only one out there.

Moline IL...Good 'Ol Mississippi...

Get up early ... ski, go home
Get out late ... ski, go home

It gets pretty busy on the weekends, not bad though.

Apart from the flooding right now, it is a great place to boat. :P
