Prop, RH vs LH

Can I put a LH or a RH prop on my '02 Outback? My boat backs right does this mean it has a RH prop on it and can I change that?

I believe all Indmar engines turn right, and no you can't use a LH prop on a RH boat. It is the direction the shaft rotates.

You will need a LH prop. The prop on your boat should have diameter, pitch and rotation stamped on the face around the shaft.

Actually, in an emergency situation, I've put a RH prop on a lefty. We had to put throttle in reverse to go forward, but it does work.
