I think they are molded on to the speakers. I'll be replacing mine shortly. I'm looking at the Polk db651 right now.

New speakers usuallly come with new grills. Choose carefully, right diameter, hole pattern

Apparently the 651s come with an insert to fit the 6.75'' holes. Anyone tried them?

Stick grills are molded to speaker. I searched high and low and finally decided to replace all speakers with the nice Kenwood's that come stock...got em' off ebay...One seller had 5 pair..paid like $30/pr...better to just replace them and the bonus is MUCH better sound and appearance to boot. They do have a ittle smaller grill though so have to play w/ the install to make them look perfect. Good luck!

I actually just went through this upgrade as well. I have an 03lsv and replaced the four in main part with 6.5" kickers, but went with the polks up front because the kicker grills wouldn't cover the holes up front,(rember it's vinyl up there) however in the main there was enough carpet it worked out. To be honest though I like the sound from the polks better and should have put them throughout the boat.

I have an '04 LSV and I just installed Polk MMC650s in the cabin. They look great and sound even better. I haven't replaced the front two yet. I think the MMC650s will work there as well. I used the "european" spacer that came with them to help with fitment. And a little bit of coaxing with a sawzall to open the holes up slightly.

If you have a couple of extra dollars you can spare, I just upgraded my 03 Mobius stock speakers with Polk 650. They sound fantastic and look sharp. If I can figure out how to post a pic I will shortly. I actually scored them very cheap at http://www.cardomain.com/item/POLDB650 for about $56 / pair with free shipping. Hopefully the link works in this thread they are pretty sharp and very clean. I was able to install them without making any filler rings.....

Hope this helps
