ENGINE NOISE

MY 99 OUTBACK LS HAS DEVELOPED A POPPING NOISE IN THE REGION OF THE WATER PUMP , FUEL PUMP AREA. VERY NOTICEABLE AT IDLE AND INCREASES IN FREQUENCY WITH RPM INCREASE.
ENGINE PERFORMS WELL OTHERWISE.

for anyone who wants to know, it was the vbelt making the noise . dealer had it too tight , maybe when they changed the water pump, and it wore out prematurely
