Transmission

Took my 07 LSV in for the first service. Just received the great news that I need a new transmission. Has anyone had any problems like this? Just the start of the good ol money pit.

How many hours are on it? What were the symptoms? What does the tech think caused the issue. I've not heard or read of anyone having tranny problems. Most of the issues that I read about are secondary systems issues that are usually the product of incomplete dealer prep and testing. A loose or disconnected this-or-that which is easily remedied. The good news is that this issue reared it's head while you are still under warranty. Hopefully they can swap it out and have you n the water soon.

40+ hours and it was making a ratteling and winding noise. I thought something was loose but the dealer said that it is a manufacturing error. Said the gears where put in too tight and also something with a pump. Obviously as you can tell I am not a mechanic.
