How much oil in trailer hubs?

Has anybody changed the oil in your trailer hubs.How much oil did it take.I have a 2003 Outback LS with a single axle trailer.Also does it call for straight 50weight oil?

Mine took about 3/4 of a quart per side. Fill up slowly, then give it a couple of minutes for air bubbles to make it out and top it off. The trailer buddy manual includes instructions for maintenance and calls for SAE 50 oil.
I took the wheels off to do this job. Also, watch for the wind while draining. The little oil stream makes quite a mess.

Straight 50w. My single axle trailer took 4 to 5 oz per hub. Fill them all the way up, no air left in the hub. Was a 4 beer job (2 per hub, Bud did the trick)

Holy cow, Butta! I have a tandem axle trailer, so it's an 8 beer job. I better do one side per day. I don't have Ed's stamina when it comes to the beer. I can drink the hell out of a bottle of scotch, however. :)

Ok,so I know how much beer to get,but I'm not quite sure how much oil to get?

One quart should do it for a single axle, but you'll need a little more for a tandem. Get 2

What year did the trailers start taking oil? I do not think my 02 trailer has this option. So I guess that your trailers do not have the grease fittings on the hubs either? Am I correct?

Boatmate started putting oil baths on in '03 I think. No grease fittings. After 3 years of owning this one, they seem to be pretty much hassle free.
