Ok, apparently I may have misplaced my faceplate after storing my boat for the winter. What are my options? Are the head units "keyed" to a particular plate? Unbelievable...

I had a kenwood in my truck a few years ago that got stolen and all they took was the face plate. I figured it was no big deal to just order the new one with my serial number and what not. Turned out i had to buy a whole new deck. Granted this was a few years ago so hopefully you dont have to do the same

New head on ebay for 100 bucks, oh, and it's an mp3 also.

Mine was mp3 already...
Does anybody know the model number that came in the 2006 Outback V base model? It apparently is not a marine unit, but I didn't get any paperwork on it when I purchased the boat and the model number is on the faceplate and head unit, neither of which I have here to check.

I sent you a message, I have my faceplate still. I am not using it anymore.

Thanks for the offer but I finally got word from skiers choice and was able to order from the Kenwood distributor. $75 lesson learned...

Scottman, the good new is that when the new one comes in, the old one will magically appear and then you will have a backup faceplate!!!

That's what usually happens to me. No matter what it was, I find the old one shortly after buying a new one
