So we got on the water the other day and almost immediatley got a warning about engine temp. shut it down and decided to pull the impeller and check it. Sure enough it was destroyed. Only 2 yrs old. Luckily I keep an extra onboard so we were back in business in less than 30 minutes and the boat ran great for the 2 days on the lake after. The real question is what about all the bits and pieces that came off? do I need to remove all the oil cooler or heat exchanger hoses to see if they are stuck there? What do you guys think? I've never had this happen in 30 yrs of boating LOL. Raptor 6.2 400 engine on a 2021 Craz

By now everything is most likely in the lake and gone. Just watch your temps and you are probably fine.

thanks, I talked to the mechanic at the dealer and he basically said the same thing. We had 2 full days on the lake after this with no issues so I feel pretty good leaving things as is and watching the temp like you said.

Yep. Happened to me several years ago with a different boat than I have now. I was worried too, but never had any issues. If any bigger pieces got stuck, they will break down and pass on through. If no temperature issues, then no temperature issues, and no problem!

My malibu ate an impeller years ago and when I pulled the hose the heat exchanger had caught almost all of it. It was still flowing ok but I pulled a lot of impeller material out of there.

Just curious, was that a brand name part or one from Amazon/China? Never had one that dry-rotted after two years.
