That's a pretty big boat to go that high out of the water too!

I saw the video of that last night and couldn't believe it. Absolutely crazy!

I also watched a video of the dyno for one of those meth motors - scary stuff when that dog starts to eat.
There is another video from someone at Skater Boats that did the cockpit overview of that boat. The boat had a parachute, assume at 200mph they could not activate it fast enough.
Another cool video was the cockpit camera when they took the run. The boat has a 3-speed transmission, so it was pretty cool to see the shifts as the boat came up to speed. Also noticed on that video, when the boat when airborne, the throttles were not all the way down. Nuts!!
As a fan of these high-speed cats & v-bottoms - AWESOME . . . . and I'm glad those two are safe.

I saw the cockpit camera yesterday of the crash. The safety in that boat is fantastic. The guys didn't panic at all and just sat there the whole time. The fact they won even with the crash just makes the story better.

several years ago I stayed at the bluewater resort in parker just south of havasu. they were using the pool at the resort to train skater boat drivers in how to escape. they had a pod they were strapped into and dumped upside down in the pool and had X-minutes to escape. it was cool to watch.
one of the trainees said they had quite a bit of time into training to escape.

Pretty crazy to see how much of the hull is actually in the water on a 51' Mystic boat going 221 mph.
This was the 2024 Lake of the Ozarks Shootout on a 3/4 mile course:
