How do I determine if my fire extinguisher (06 Outback V) is still 'valid'? I checked this at the beginning of the season and double checked this past wekeend but couldn't find a date anywhere on it. The charge status is still fine - is this the only sign that I (and the water cops :) ) should look for?
I can't seem to find this info anywhere :?: Thanks in advance for the advise!
Everyone have a safe upcoming holiday weekend!

Charge status is the criteria and available. It seems like most States are close to the same rule.

Most boats are required to have a Type B fire extinguisher(s) on board, in serviceable condition, and readily available.

Thanks zab! My extinguisher is the standard model that comes from Moomba. So as long as the needle says Full, I'm good then I suppose. For future reference and moreso, my own sense of safety, is this 'lifetime'? Or is there still some recommended replacement timeframe - say like every 3 or 5 years?

5-10 years is standard life span. Probably good for your use of the boat - tell the new owner to get a new one, or, feel good and get one for them.
