Hello everyone,

I am wondering what this Allen head part is on my boat next to the fuel cap. Is it a vent or something I should open while fueling?

Thank you!

Jon

That is the vent to your gas tank. Without it, you wouldn't be able to fill it.

Right, don’t have to do anything with it when fueling.

If you over full your tank fuel will leak out. Never did this on my mojo but used to happen all the time on my old i/o.

Thank you all for the answers, I kinda thought that was what it was for. When fueling up my mojo I always struggle to get a full tank because the pump always auto shuts off. Kinda frustrating to say the least.

I see you're an engineer, so to make it clear to you, that is the upper mount for the fuel systems storage tank atmospheric equalization control conduit. [emoji3]

Haha good to hear I wasn’t the only one. Kinda felt stupid to ask lol. And thanks for speaking my language!

Haha good to hear I wasn’t the only one. Kinda felt stupid to ask lol. And thanks for speaking my language!I felt the same way. I knew it was a vent, but it also looks overkill. The hex key fitting makes it look like you're supposed to open and close it. Like it has a seal or something. But it doesn't.
