Well we are 3 days in and no new thread so I guess I’ll start another one lol.

Some thrown together footage from last weekend. Ballast wasn’t full from the relay issue but decided to try 80 on the surf plate @ 11.2 mph again since I ran those settings at the end of last season and I liked the wave it put out. Yea it knocks a little height off the wave compared to 65 but it’s still plenty big and seems to have a thicker, rolled over top portion and power is still there, even if not 100% ballasted.

Hak, keep the videos coming always like seeing them.

We didn’t take a lot of pics but we had a great weekend. Did add a new rear Bimini that made a huge difference in the hot sun. Wakeshade.com

Wakeshade.com Pretty simple to install. But had to adjust the mounts last night a bit but I think I have it set we’re it will clear my rope now. Was barely rubbing this weekend, so we just surfed. Not a perfect Bimini, could still use a bit of refinement but well worth it on 95-100 deg days

And are you still able to use all 4 surf sleeves on the top of the front bimini?

My buddy flew to the lake in his helicopter making for quite the show. My daughter is infatuated with it but won't go for a flight. I keep nudging my kids to consider a career in aviation. After hearing how quick the flight was to the lake, my son interest just peaked!https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20230707/859e0ed4c0b90ffc6c851848229fe91e.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20230707/5f5c2d11ae59decae6b2a0d12c552a32.jpg

Having a great 4th of July week at the lake… early morning butter sessions on the wakeboard, surfing with my daughter, finally getting my son standing on the ZUP, and lots of family hang out time.

There's the two main normal sleeves and then a 2nd bungee cord you can use to stack two boards on top of each other, one slightly behind the other. (I admit, I rarely have more than two boards on my boat but with big crews and 90-230 lbs weight range it has happened.)

Little update. After adjusting the Bimini I can’t get my Nubstep in as the fins are too long to clear the Bimini case. Any skim style will slip right in. But long broadcast was too long and wouldn’t fit. So I might need to tweek it a bit more still yet.

Far as length, it works well on the Makai I think, clears your head as you step down off the deck to the rear seat. No ducking required. Longer would have to duck down to get under it.

I think if the black struts were vertical vs 45 it would give it enough clearance to clear most boards. Might not clear the big surf fins but shorter ones.

I emailed the pictures to the company, going to see if I can get them to make some Moomba mounts for us. If not, I'll make some for myself its just aluminum bar and a few tapped holes, just be nice for anyone else ordering if they go ahead and make an optional set of mounts. I'll let you all know what they say.

So earlier in the July post I was raving about my wife going ropeless and how proud I was of her. We went out with Knoxmojo right before we went on vacation and he really got her the last 10% or so that I couldn't explain or show her. She was killing it with him on her skim style board. I had bought her a phase 5 wahoo earlier this year and we both had a hard time on it with the big fins installed so it's been sitting collecting dust. Well we took it out today and swapped to the 1.75 nubit fins and man what a difference! Here she is absolutely killing it behind the boat! https://i.ibb.co/dPgZHBF/20230724-155247.jpg (https://ibb.co/gSVYcyN)
Girl is almost into another area code way back there! When I pointed out how far back she was she asks if that's OK to do. Had to explain that her riding in the back 40 of that wave is about as awesome as it gets. https://i.ibb.co/0GyY9hg/20230724-155250.jpg (https://ibb.co/rw25p4C)

She was so excited and is loving her new board after the fin swap. She is riding better than me and stayed on it working her way up to the boat and then way back for about 6 minutes straight which I sure can't do with all my screwing around. I just wanna shout out to Knoxmojo for helping us with our wave and getting her Killin it and to Eder for this sweet lil board shes riding.. Today was a game changer for her and for us. If she wasn't hooked before she sure is now.

I’ve given her some good videos I found to help teach her the basics better than I can explain it and hopeful the vids will help. Man as a last resort. Take those screws out and put some large fender washers over the plastic on the outside of the mount and put it back. 3 may hold it in place pertty well. All the force when in use will be pushing into the transom and not pulling away.

Well we’ve been on the water every day since Saturday so it may be a nice little break. If it were Sunday and this was the only option I may do that.

The hole where the cable passes through is sealed by a small rubber grommet that compresses between the actuator bracket and the transom.

Right after I cleaned the entire boat I decided that would be a perfect time to punch a huge hole.in it for a trash can. Grabbed a hole saw and went at it.

https://i.ibb.co/dpDVBY2/20230727-072219.jpg (https://ibb.co/Lg1cS7t) this is the 3d printed trach chute that Chris prints out. Has a matching threaded nut you screw on from the back. This one has a flap on it as well which is nice so it's not just an open hole.

Interesting, any pictures of the trash can in place?

Well we made it back from our week in Arkansas. Got the boat fixed the day before we left so we didn’t have to worry about the plate flopping the whole way home. Still need to water test for leaks.

My son got up on skis for the first time and now wants to do it all the time.

And my wife is snapping selfies as she pulled me surfing. We really dropped the ball on taking pictures this last week. Oops.

Had a great birthday weekend even with the triple digit temps. The wakeshade extended Bimini makes a huge difference. So glad we got it. Tried out the crib sheets on the back locker doors. Worked pretty well to keep from burning feet on the light grey vinyl.

I caught this Moomba Mobius LSV escaping the shade around the corner from our houseboat. https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20230731/0f452370bc119e5cfeff6600b249e4db.jpg

Ole Ron was version 1.0 from Chris. He had to measure everything out after I punched the hole. Had a flap but took it off, was too cumbersome for the kids and little hands. Straight through was easier. The pass through is so nice!

Nothing like the feeling of drilling a hole in a perfectly good boat.

Chris is the man for coming up with these gadgets.

Going on 3 years with it on Ron. Lol. He measured it all out for me after I drilled the hole out. He came up with the trim ring and locking ring like it was nothing. He's great!

I've been a ghost these days...

July was a week in the middle of Idaho. 80-86 degree water. Temps in the upper 90s, but still 78 degrees at 11pm = no motivation for campfire [emoji91].

Literally having the lake to ourselves with no other boats doing anything. Smooth water almost every day well into the afternoon.

(See pic for mirror glass at 3pm!)

My son is now 17 and leveled up on both wake and surf. And he did almost all the boat driving for me and took the boat on/off the trailer and did the nose ups for my pickup-dropoff.

Almost 400 miles 1 way to get there over 2 brutal passes, but worth it. Over 100 gallons [emoji618] in the boat and well over 100 gallons in the truck. https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20230824/8b9de5b0093e8e3212ca298f64115d1c.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20230824/f554c3357d71e33d5f75fcc1323676a3.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20230824/44ee921af2fc8a30289cc6bd326fa0f0.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20230824/af8fd6ee0d17a4a2f02669281fbce1c6.jpg

What Lake in Idaho? We drove through Idaho from Salt Lake to Yellowstone thanks to the Airlines Fing up our flight a few weeks ago. I saw a bunch of boats and campers in the road and wondered what lake they were headed too.

Sent from my iPhone using TapatalkYeah it's a bitch to get there. Almost 400 miles and up two big passes that have my cooling system begging for mercy...

But in the end, it's mind blowing how great of an experience boating is with no one else to mess up your water! Our 'normal' lake was 3 hours from Portland and 1 hour from Bend OR. It can get pretty damn busy and I'll take remote Idaho anyday.
