Boatmate said they couldn’t fabricate steps due to the size of my trailer and my EOH brake reservoir, so a friend fabbed up some steps in his shop for me. Lucked out finding a matching gator step color on Amazon, and with a bit of black tremclad, I’m pretty happy with the result! The hitch can still swing over without being near the boat, and the bottom step is removable if you have to make really tight turns.

I guess I am still somewhat confused by their statement. You proved that they can obviously be made to fit. And look good too!

I don't think it is the length but rather where the steps go and if the brake actuator or any of the other hardware is in the way or not. If I am not mistaken the boatmate steps bolt through the trailer tongue and does not use the ubolts to attach it.
