New to me 19 Mojo, has an awesome system but the bow speakers are Wetsounds Recon 5S’s, they really lack depth and clarity. Surprising for something wetsounds would put out.

2 things - anyone know if I can swap in 6.5’s in there? W

Also anyone add a speaker near the helm, or walkway? That would be another option potentially. When driving it seems like the sound is all at the rear of the boat

6.5 will fit. There is nothing in the bow to really reflect the sound. Almost needs free air 6.5 speakers.

Your lack of forward volume is probably based on wiring/amp configuration. Most likely need to turn the amp up for those channels or turn it down in the cabin. Based on your zone setup the towers and cabin drown out the bow.

To clarify, you think bow speakers are on a different channel? I haven’t checked

I have seen this wiring several ways.

4-channel amp - bow is channel 3 and 4 and cabins are bridged. Port side 2 speakers channel 1 and starboard side 2 speakers channel 2. The bridged channels have lower resistance so more amp output and are louder. To even this out turn the cabin gain down and bow up.

6 channel amp - self explanatory and again adjust gains to your liking

Now the fun 1. 4 channel amp for the cabin speakers tuned correctly all good. Then dealer adds 2 bow speakers and wires them to the output of the radio. The radio doesn't put out the same power and when you adjust volume on the radio the bow speakers go up, BUT this increases output to the cabin amp and they get even louder. This way works but again you have to turn down your cabin amp gain.

Regardless while adjusting, pull the rcas from the tower. Adjust the cabin, bow, and sub to your liking, then add in towers and adjust while standing 20ft behind the boat.

Hope that helps

Almost needs free air 6.5 speakers.

The speakers currently there, are free-air. Just about any typical full-range speaker, is designed and intended to, have a large air space behind it.

Well….. looks like the amp just blew…. Stopped getting power all of a sudden, both fuses were blown…. Took the power and ground out, replaced the fuses, power back….. speaker popping and smoke from the amp…… back to no power…. Toast.

What amp would anyone recommend to replace it with? Was a Memphis that was in there. Haven’t pulled it yet for the model number.

Is this the amp for the 6 cabin/bow speakers? Is this also your subwoofer amp?

I believe this is just for the cabin speakers. The tower has 4 rev 10’s and is still functional, subs as well

Need to know if the amp is also powering a subwoofer.

No, it’s not powering a sub

Thanks!

Kicker KXMA500.4 would be my choice.
