View Full Version : Question on Bimini Part

Hey All,
Does anyone know what the part on the bimini is called that holds the second pole and has a pin that goes through it? It is about an inch or two long and has an opening on the top for the ball at the end of the pole to slide into and then it gets pinned in. And also where I can order it? It's for a 2020 Max. It's stripped out and the post keeps slipping off. I've tried to add a picture but the thread is not letting me. I'll see if I can do so after the initial post. Thanks in advance. Wren

Update: I tried to add a picture in a reply and it's still not letting me. Not sure why but the upload button just isn't working on my end. I added a little more detail on the part. Hopefully the above makes sense.

You can create a Tapatalk account and add photos through this forum on the app. Much easier and the photos are larger than through the forum by itself.

When you say stripped out are you referring to the screws holding it to the main bimini frame? If thats the case you could go up a size on screws or move it fore/aft a bit and redrill the screw holes.

Basically the ball at the end of the post eroded away at the portion near the pin and now it won't stay in place. It's hard to see in the picture.https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20230223/0137d43040ff31f3a042cbf67924c380.jpg

Look at taco marine. They have several styles that you could use to replace that socket. I just googled bimini top ball socket and got a ton of results

If I am not mistaken, Roswell makes the bimini. I would just call them directly. That might be the quickest easiest way to get replacement.

So are you saying the ball eroded away from the pin, is it this?https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20230223/4ffb8493408c28616716ec7da21b876e.jpg

Sent from my SM-G781V using TapatalkNo. The actual piece lost some of it's metal so now the ball will not stay on place. It will slide back and pin in but then comes out with wind/bounce.

Be advised Roswell charges some rediculously expensive prices for all their parts. If you are handy and willing to look around you can probably save a good bit of coin on that small part biying anywhere other than from Roswell.

Measure your tube but this one fits 7/8 tube https://tacomarine.com/canvas-shade-ball-socket-top-fittings-f13-0242

I didn't see the specific part online but the stuff I saw was outrageously priced.

Just wanted to say thanks for the help. I got it figured out. Called Roswell and the price with shipping is $44.17. Which is actually less than what tacomarine was charging with shipping... $47. So it's out there... The part is a Bimini deck hinge - part number C717-5190.
