Haha yep I’ve taken a few work calls from the boat, almost makes it not feel like work that way.

Headed in after good day on Lake Travis yesterday 9/25. 97F, water temp 87. Hardly any boats out.

Another family joined us and both kids got up on knee boards first try.

I gave the foil another try, and still can’t get up.

Had a repeat of the issue of being in the cruise profile and the center plate going to 100% driving the nose down at around 12-15 mph. Power off, switch off battery, and everything back to normal.

Still no luck on the foil? Is it breaching?

I can’t even get to standing. It immediately subs and I get pulled over it. I think I need a more buoyant board and better foil set-up for my weight.

If the front of the board subs your weight is too far forward. What foil and board are you on?

It’s not the front, it’s the whole board subs.

I'm 230#, Learned on a Slingshot 4-6 x 18 x 2 1/4 this summer. It's super floatie, we call it the 'Bus'.
It cruises when you ride it, but when you fall, for some reason it really busts you ass.

A longer board will help you learn the technique, but then you have the law of diminishing returns. It's not responsive or easy to correct if you over shift your weight to recover.

It sounds like a weight or feet issue. Try to put your back foot over the mast and the front foot a little wider than shoulder width.
My other suggestion is try not to stand until you have the board skimming the surface of the water. Stay crouched with knees bent.

Yesterday on Tellico Lake TN.

Had 2-3 weeks of hot weather in Sept, but the weather has. Kw switched to fall. More breeze days.

It was really nice. This was in the middle of the lake in a very open spot. The lake continues towards the Smoky Mtns and curves a lot, so it was easy to find some nice water. Water temps was mid-70s.

I'm thankful to live in a beautiful place in East TN.

It was a sad weekend pulling the water toys but super proud of the family work together to get it done. My 11 year old drove the boat to the ramp and put it on the trailer and the wife handle the truck and trailer like a champ leaving me to supervise. Woke up with air Temps in the 40's and barely broke 60. Water temp was 61. Winds kicked up making for interesting surfing and foiling but we enjoyed every minute.https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20220927/36beeb8aca4e9ff1225a7d32032d2c53.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20220927/5c88dd1da0f7eb696bcdac2ed28741d5.jpg

With the wind we got the wing out with the SUP, had hoped to try the wing with the foil for the first time but ran out of daylight.https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20220927/b899b2f005678d34b84f065708f57fef.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20220927/388d8fec1e6152f4e5ef1e73677a15f2.jpg

several years ago those rocks would be underwater but with the record low levels the last couple of years they have been exposed.

Lucky you! I have a make up trip mid-October. I am predicting water temp at 72, but the air temperature is so hit and miss that time of year. Hoping for 80, but we have seen 60 and 75 before and even 50 in September.

2022 SA 450@Mxmark4 has offered several great tips. A few others worth considering:
Make sure the driver pulls you up easy. On day one for me I took the foil tip to the chest 3 times getting pulled up way to hard.
I learned long line but personally find it way easier to get up short line. Others feel the opposite so try both. I feel short line helps getting the board on plane, long line is easier once on plane.

When learning I would hold the handle and top edge of the board at the same time to prevent submerging. Alternatively I would hold the handle and top of the board with one hand and the other hand was on the tail of the board. Ultimately I believe this helped me stay crouched til the board planed.
