Adding a Drain Hole to Storage Compartment

2016 Supra SA - this is the storage compartment on the port side just in front of where the rear bag is. We got hit with rain pretty bad while on the water and this compartment filled up with a couple of inches of water and no way to drain. Would think you could drill a couple holes or add a drain similar to what is where the trash can is located. I have often wondered why no drain to the bilge is there, it holds a lot of water for sure. I have my floor loose right now, will see if anything is running under the floor that could be damaged and report back.
