Just wanna give a shout out to #waveform and Bryan Thompson at waveform. The Maverick gives an awesome surf. I've been having troubles with getting people to let go of the rope and find the sweet spot. This last week I took 5 of the same friends out with surfmodes setup and 5 out of 5 of them were able to let go of the rope and ride for 30 seconds or more. I know my wave still needs some work and figuring it out.. Such an awesome product and customer service. Thanks Bryan! I would recommend this to anyone.

What is your weight set up? I've experimented with two wakeshapers (have two Swell shapers; I can't believe the Maverick could be that different/better), but I still think I get a better wave using one.

So for the first half of the season this year I was using one swell wake shaper. There were 5 people that I was trying to teach to surf and having issues with push and length of my wave and just could not let go of the rope without getting washed out. After having a lot of the same doubts, I caved and bought the Maverick system. Bryan at surfmode has been nothing other than Amazing to work with. His knowledge is a great asset to later model boat owners (2016 and older) who want to surf. The first time out putting on the Maverick I was amazed at the size and length of the wave. Luckily the 5 people that were trying were on the boat that day. Needless to say I got all 5 of them up and letting go of the rope for 30 seconds or more that day with little effort. I would encourage you to reach out to Bryan and see what he thinks about running two wake shapers in comparison to the Maverick. My weight set up is 750's in the rear lockers and 510 in the locker. When surfing 80-100% surf side, 40-50% non surf side and 50% in the locker. I'm currently wait on setting up waveform ( https://waveform.surf/ ) another product that Brian has created. It's a artificial intelligent ballast system and can't wait to install it. Reach out to Bryan on FB and he'll give you a honest answer. Hope this helps.

Has anyone tried this? Really interested.

I looked at the link too and you are correct it does look really interesting. Sounds a lot like AutoWake, but only for ballast. No fancy wakeplate adjustment such as the yaw tab.

I am currently installing this in my 2006 moomba LSV and will be giving updates later this week. Install seems to be quick and easy. I've seen the app and very easy to use.

That's correct. I will use surfmode with this as well. Should be a great time. Installing this Tuesday and should be on the lake Thursday. I'll report back on Friday.

I had a nauticurl that was just about useless on my ‘13 Supra.
I went with the wakesurf mega from liquid force. What a difference! The thing is huge. It displaces a lot of water.
I was able to get a much better wave, and drop 1k lb of ballast.

Interesting, cause I went from a home made suck-gate to the nauticurl slim and I love it. Since adding that and a 1000 lbs of lead, I am extremely happy with my wave. Makes me wonder about about trying other gates.

For me on a direct drive there is nothing better Than maverick. I’m running 600 pounds of ballast with a great wave everyone can surf. I’m actually under the capacity plate by 300 pounds or so. Insane. I used to run about 2100 pounds of ballast w mission

I think a lot of finding the right gate has to do with hull design/lines and the contact patch of what that gate is actually displacing. Also with wave height/length/force.
With the nauticurl it was not displacing enough volume, to where my wave was still converging about 3-4ft behind the swim deck.
This is with a 24ft boat with 3k lb of ballast and 500lb of lead.
Going to the wakesurf mega, it’s larger than a cutting board, smaller than a door mat. Massive contact area. It displaces so much water, that when on the right side of the boat, set up for regular, you actually have to counter steer the boat. But not for goofy, I’m assuming that has to do with prop rotation?

I will add the regular wave was always good, but I could not get the goofy wave to clean up. A larger gate did the trick.

I have a basically brand new nauticurl, 3 suction cup model If anyone is looking for one.

Bryan from surf mode was great until I tried to return my purchase. He told me I could have until June 30 to try out surf mode and if I didn’t like it, return it for a refund. We could not get it to make a significant improvement on our 2008 Moomba Mobius LS so I returned the product. He received it on 5 July. I have sent him emails, text and voice mail, he is ghosting me. Very rude in my book. Just be careful because if things don’t go his way he seems to be disingenuous.
