Well as much as the flooding is driving me crazy that we can’t get on the water, this view makes up for it a little bit.

Heres the last pic of the day and its not a good one. Cross wind got the port side into the pole on the trailer and the end result is not pretty

My buddy is gonna repair it but it really got into the gelcoat. Just sucks. Should have it completed next week if I am lucky. Am I the only person who feels like they cant have anything nice without some awful thing happening to it?

Y’all have fun!We went out this morning. My son and one of his friends got some pretty good surt time in. But I hear you on the wind. It was brutal and made for a lot of work. Pushing the boat every where and making white caps and spray. Beautiful sun and sky. Temperature good, just strong persistent wind!

Spent a few hours yesterday cleaning and polishing. She had thousands of those tiny embedded/baked-on water spots that most people would never notice (hard to see unless the light/angle is just right) that will not come off with any of the water spot removers I’ve ever tried.

After washing and wiping down with IPA (50/50 alcohol & water) I polished with the DA with orange pad using 3m’s marine polish with wax. Today I’m going to topcoat it with meguiars flagship marine wax, then onto the interior.

Btw I should have used just a compound or polish only instead of the 2in1. The wax in it made it more difficult to remove, but it’s what I had on hand…

for real!!! this month has been cold and wet, which sucks because last year i was on the water mid- april a couple days ... but ill take a late start if it means a longer season.

either way, reservoirs are way down and i dont see that changing much, even with the extra rain.

Did a few quick mods this past week. First up was installing some nets in my rear sundeck above the ballast bags and above the engine. I am using the one above the engine to hold my ropes and I throw my wet life javket in there to warm it up. Works amazing! https://i.ibb.co/mhT9FDk/20220511-085837.jpg (https://ibb.co/MPSc52r)
https://i.ibb.co/kqh6t1w/20220513-230845.jpg (https://ibb.co/wpKrfsP)
Next up was installing a taller seat for my wife. She constantly complains about the seat being too low. I bought the 15 in seat post which is way taller than necessary. I installed it for a trip out tomorrow but I plan to cut it down some later this week. Its nice to see over the windshield. But this height is rediculous. https://i.ibb.co/Yt224Wb/20220513-223043.jpg (https://ibb.co/19ZZYnb)https://i.ibb.co/q045ZNG/20220513-223446.jpg (https://ibb.co/hXnfqB5)

The last mod was adding this cuholder so my wife doesnt have to reach way down low to get a drink. So I bought a cupholder to bring her drink up closer. Have to grab some longer screws in the morning to be able to mount it up. Holes are all drillen and countersunk to prevent gelcoat cracking

This is our 2nd, but this one we built to us vs. buying someone else’s build.

I did experience the software glitch that causes the center plate to drop during Cruise and Back to Dock were engaged.

Shutting off the battery switch and letting the computer reboot solved that issue (thanks forum[emoji106]).

I was running with crew that were novices to wake boats, and I was a little rusty on the ready line. Plus, my wife, the boat driver was gone, which put me in the hot seat.

All I can say is Thrusters are worth it!

Probably a real PITA, hopefully I can pull the floor panel to get to it, I haven't looked yet.
Had some fiberglass work done on the bottom over the winter, can't help but wonder if they managed to slice the bag in the process, I guess we'll see when I pull it out.

I used to think the same thing until I took a few videos. The videos make the wake look longer than they actually are. I had to lift the centre plate all the way up and slow the boat way down to get enough push to propel the wakeboard. The wave is actually really short and crazy steep here.

Talked to my dealer, 850 for the bag and backordered indefinitely.
"Luckily" they are just idiots and for some reason disconnected the starboard bag while swapping a strut this winter and didn't put the hoses back on.
So easy fix.

Removal isn't that bad, pull the engine divider panels, then take out 6 screws to remove its track, then remove 6 more screws to pull the ballast floor covers and you're in.

On my previous Supra I would disconnect all the bags for winter. One spring I hooked up two, but forgot the center bag. Some would be surprised how fast those pumps will start to fill you bilge.

Good deal on your fix . . . .

Yep 2 pumps per bag makes for an interesting few minutes lol.
By the time the bilge came on there was probably 6" of water in the bottom of the boat.

I had a hose uncouple on our Sanger while surfing. I noticed the wave softening up and looked up from my line to see a geyser coming from the port locker which had opened partially when the bag filled.

It was about 10-15 sec before I got my wife’s attention and she shut everything down.

Well my boating season is off to the latest start that I've ever had. Normally I'm in the Water by April 1st or before. But I've been mountain biking a lot and unfortunately getting launched over the bars and Landing squarely on my collarbone isn't going to do my boating season any favors...

I got a few projects that I need addressed before I can put it in the water and crawling around and wrenching on the boat is not possible right now.

On a good note however I was able to come up with a great solution for a code reader for mefi5. It's a system from Fox Marine that costs about $325 and I read the info on a $5 bluetooth app. Descending unit from Fox Marine is actually now hardwired into my boat. So now I can read and clear codes as well as see how many bazillion hours I have on the engine. https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20220518/df8608a91901be5ee7f167d7f3104370.jpg

Out of fairness, it was quick release Rev 10s and and bimini that was held on by two thumb screws and a strap. I’ve seen plastic speaker housings crack over time and had a Bimini cover start to tatter from trailering a lot. Just trying to be a good seller.

Looks good! Is that a wrap on it? I keep my mondo at my grandfathers house which is for sale currently. Had some folks come to look at house and ended up trying to buy my boat instead of house. Now is a terrible time to try and buy a bigger boat, but I threw out a number about 10k more than I paid and he didnt seem to flinch at it. So upgrading might be in my near future.

Love your all black! Not sure why these boats are even offered without a second battery anymore given all the tech and sound systems.

Thanks and yeah, it would be great to see you out on the lake sometime. Congrats on the Supra, it’s a great looking boat!

We have a dry slip at Hurst Harbor and are on all of the marina’s lists for a slip. This one ended up coming available right before we received the boat and it’s really convenient to our house (within 10 min). How about you? Any suggestions for good surf spots? It’s been pretty choppy just about every time we’ve gone out but I’m also sure the wind isn’t helping.

We have a storage unit near Briarcliff Marina. We had intent to use the launches at Pace Bend Park, but all are closed except Tournament Point.

We’ve only had the boat out once and launched from Cody Park in Lago Vista where family members live. We had decent water until the afternoon, spent most of our time near Collier and Paradise coves.

My wife and I have the luxury of being able to go out midweek mornings and avoid the crowds, but family and friends are consummate weekend warriors and wifeys weekends are mostly spent at work.

How much are the dry slips running? I never even looked into it because it seemed like such a PITA to schedule, but now with ramps closing we may not even be able to launch.

Nice, we used to launch my in-law’s boat out of Briarcliff so we’re familiar with that area. We’re hoping we get some rain soon so more ramps open up. At the current rate, I don’t know how much longer Hurst Harbor’s slips will be accessible since it’s so deep in the cove. We’re paying a hair over $300/mo for the dry slip and wet slips are $350-425 depending on the size. They’re currently replacing the smaller slips with larger ones so the prices will all be higher in the next year or so. Unless you can store your trailer elsewhere, they charge another $75/mo for that. I thought the dry slip would be a PITA too but it hasn’t been too bad. Just call an hour ahead and they have it sitting at a dock for you when you arrive. The biggest complaint I have is about not having a chance to wipe down the exterior once we’re done for the day unless you wait around for them to pull it out. That and having to trailer it out unless you want to buy gas on the water. We filled up at Crosswater and it was semi-painful!

We’ve gone out on weekdays and weekends, and I’d agree during the week is better. I’ll check out Collier and Paradise Cove next weekend. Thanks for the recommendation and I hope to see you out there!

In October we will have been on this lake for 5 years. We're in the water almost everyday and in 5 years we have seen 3 gators and they were all under 2 feet long. Our lake is really clear and supposedly they like murky water. Being in Florida there is always a chance of gators in fresh water or sharks in saltwater.

That awesome. How old is he? My son is 6 and I still can't get him to try to wakeboard, all he likes to do is surf with me, nothing on his own. He is on a swim team this summer so maybe that will boost his conifidense in the water.

As far as gators go, in the Houston area we see the. We were surfing on the Trinity river a few years back and passed 3 10+ footers all on the bank within a couple hundred yards. Every once in a while if you get outside in the morning you will catch one swimming by the boat house but once the boats make it out and there are people they all disappear. Never heard of anyone being bothered by one on our lakes.

The bbtalkin units have really made a huge difference and i recommend them. He used to make up all sorts of hand signals that i had no clue what he was trying to tell me. I also have the bbtalkin intercom system. Absolutely the most valuable piece of training equipment I use at my school ( not counting the boats of course)! The ability to provide instant feedback to the athletes is invaluable. Love them. Not sure if I would own them if I was just out on the lake to have fun but if anyone is at all interested in really improving their skills or coaching someone else these are fantastic tools.
