Cool video. I think the pro skim boarder from the MC Team, Austin Keen has a video on this too. That guy can ride.

Someone posted a video last summer of a wakeboarder doing that. Dude was really ripping with speed to get around.

Hope the copy-cats are ready to throw that boat in reverse if their rider runs out of steam on the whip-around in front of the boat . . .

Looks like captain goes full off and turns left when rider starts across bow.

Clearly the boat starts in a full right turn .

That wakeboard video did that too.

That is actually impressive and they made that look easy. The thing that scares me is that really takes a skilled driver. What happens when a bunch of weekend warriors start trying things like this. Just really scary thinking about a rider going that close in front of the boat. Anything could happen if the rider falls and the driver panics or hits the throttle. Makes me really nervous just to think about and I have done some stupid things in my life. I'm also a father of a 15 month old daughter so maybe I view things a little different these days. I'm also getting older. Just be safe out there everyone!!

definitely using a longer rope for sure. We've done something similar to this skiing "back in the day". Probably wasn't too smart looking back on it now ::confused:

Sometimes 'smart' and 'fun' are hard to put into one action especially 'back in the day'. Ha Ha.

They make it look super easy but I think it's gotta be easier at slower speeds on a wakeboard and a tower.
I love me some Austin Keen videos, I so want to hijack a wave on a skim board.
Soo looking forward to hijacking waves this summer on the foil board I just picked up.

Austin Keen makes it look easy. He took Tony Hawk wakesurfing and then went and rode on the skate vert ramp. That was cool to watch.

Thanks for sharing that clip. I've only seen the social media version that was short.

28mph . . . ha ha . . . . Just a few pros hanging out on Tellico Lake down by the MC Factory.

How dizzy do ya think he gets when Austin spins around that much? Sweet X and good stories.

Pretty cool Tony and his mission to build skate parks around the USA. Good for the kids.

We did too. Except our pylon wasn't taller than the windshield so we had to push the rope up and over it. It's amazing none of us were injured.

I wonder how long of a rope? I will for sure be trying this as I couldn't land a 360 last year so this is the next best thing for now haha
In the video it doesn't look much longer than a normal wake surf rope. A wake board rope would be way to long Imo the shorter the better chance you have of staying in the pull

Like someone else said, the driver can help with this trick too. I can see turning the boat opposite the spin to help keep the rope tight. And to steer away from the rider in case of a sudden fall. But it's also not a high speed trick by any means.
