We just bought a Mojo 2019 and it is not creating enough wake for wake surfing. How much extra Ballast do we need to ad to make it work for me and my family. Me and my wife have 3 kids at the ages of 8-9-10. So not a whole lot of weight.
Should i buy the WakeMAKERS plug and play bags that are 1400 lbs ? Or will that not be enough.
Thank you guys.

Welcome to the forum.
There is a lot of info on this site by searching.

Mojo needs extra weight. Get the exact fit bags if you can. They come with all fittings and plug right in to replace your current ones. The 1280's don't take all your storage like the 1400's and will be plenty. You are going to need bow weight also if no other adults in the boat. Most of us use lead bags for this because you can hide them easier.

Before doing all of this, what boat are you coming from? The mojo should still create a decent beginner wave for your kids. Search the site for settings people are and have been using. Most orders from wakemakers won't even get to you before this season is over.

I have been speaking with Joel at wakemakers and he says that the exact fit bags are 1275# and that they take up the entire storage area. I asked about the 1400# enzos and he said that they will not fill completely and that the exact fit bags are the best choice. He didn’t even mention another 1400# option. Can someone please provide the part number for these bags? I want to add as much ballast as possible. I currently have the stock 900s and have a pair of 400s in the side seats that I have to fill/empty with a tsunami pump. I want to upgrade the bags to get rid of the manual pumps and fill with the G6 pumps. Sorry, I’m not trying to Jack this thread, I think we both have the same goal.

My 500 pounds of lead came in earlier this week and I have to tell you that with stock G6 ballast 500 pounds of weight and a small crew of three the week was ridiculous.
I had all the ballots at 100% plus the 500 pounds of lead and I could not be happier.

One last thing make sure you reinforce the engine compartment panels to prevent them from buckling in. This is what I didhttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20210919/01de1475153326e9dfca5ca5d4ee682f.jpg

Sent from my iPhone using TapatalkIs that on a MOJO? Makai has 3 sections. The center section looks like the one you have pictured. I put a taller angle in the bottom of mine this weekend to keep them from popping out of the track too. 5/8" tall on front and 1" tall on back.

It still puzzles me that SC has not addressed the panels bowing and popping out issues.

Yes, mojo has 3 sections. The one in the picture is the biggest section (middle).
The factory should have extended the reinforcement all the way down but since they didn’t, I did.
I’m not kidding you when I tell you that the bow without pressure was over 1 inch.

The 3 pieces need a way to lock together where they meet in my opinion too. That's why I put the 1×4 on mine. It helps distribute the load across them all to reduce bowing too.

Tommy,
If you have 400's under the midship seats, could you just tie them into your 900's. Basically over flow the 900's into the 400's like the Max setup. With G6 pumps you would still fill pretty quick. Then use lead forbthe rest.

This is our first wakeboat. But we have friends with boats and their wake was way better. Our wake did not get me to be able to surf without the rope.
How much led weights do you recommend to put in the bow.

Where did you buy the 500 Pound weights and how much were they?
Thanks

This is where mine are from for my 2015. I know there are many places selling them now. I have moved 200# to the bow. It sits under my filler cushion and I forget it is there. The other 300# I keep under the midship seats and move from 1 side to the other depending on what side we are surfing. My flow systems is different so you will have a different setup.

500# seems to be the starting point but Wake9 used 1000# and got fantastic results.

I looked into plumbing the 400s in but it looks like a lot of work. The 900s don’t have ports on the front and the 400s only have one port near the floor at the back. I have 800# of lead already. The boat has about 4600# of ballast currently and surfs great. Just looking to clean up the process a bit and maybe add some more weight at the same time. I am going to reinforce the divider panels and do the vent mod all at the same time. I just keep hearing about these 1400# bags. I’m not sure if a person could even fit 1400# bags in my generation of Mojo (2020). The 900s fill basically the entire corner lockers up tp the top and the 400s take up all the available space under the seats. I suppose another 100# of water doesn’t take up much more room but it would have to truly be a “perfect fit”.

With the new ones I have no idea. My 2015 - 2018 you can slam the enzo bags in unless you have the heater. They fill everything up though. Completely full rear lockers and under mid seats. I have 1100's that fill the rear lockers completely but it leaves me some storage and I use 500# of lead for the rest. I keep a 100# weight sack with the anchor next to the battery to offset me. So I it at 4000# with no one in the boat. Add 9 friends and the wake is huge. I believe the newer boat weigh more than my '15. Boat is only 4100# dry weight.

Holdmybeer, what setup do you run for surfing. Sounds like we have the same boat. Obviously, I’m posting a lot and having a lot of issues lately. I’ve got to get that center and front bag to fill, but I think I’m going to need more weight to get a push from the wake to be able to drop the rope. Right now I’m running stock bags. I don’t actually know what those weigh when filled, but that’s all I’ve got.

TPJ....get that pump figured out.

But when it's just the wife and kids I run surf side full, center full but bow mostly empty (stop at half full so it doesn't overflow), 100lbs lead bow, 400lb midship surf side. Tab in 2nd position.

With full crew of 11, Same basic setup but I fill the bow also and move 100lb more to the bow. Only 3 kids sit in the front and all 6 adults in the back. Everyone sits surf side wave is huge.

Do you have any pictures or videos of your wave behind your boat?
Are you running the manual flow tabs or the automatic flow tabs?

I have manual flow 1.0

I don't have pics on my phone (always driving) but I can get some from the wife's phone this evening.

TPJ...

Hope you are getting more time on the water than me.
Said I would share what my wave looks like so I finally got a pic to share.

Again, run between 9k-10k floating and try to get 5* roll and 9* pitch using my phone app. Manual flow tab on 3rd position.
