I hope this was staged……brutal if true.

I got mad watching that....total BS for people to be that kind of trash.

It’s a bit suspect that the guy is relatively calm and found the drain plug.

Yeah, an environmentalist wouldn’t sink the boat because the long term effects to the ecology would be more damaging.

Me thinks it might be the results of a pissing match or some bad behavior payback for what happened out on the water the day before.

My question is, why was the plug in the boat? If I pulled someone’s plug out of anger, it would be 30 ft deep the other direction, or with directions to it in a bed of poison sumac, oak, or Ivy. I would also leave the battery switch on and let parasitic discharge do it’s thing.

And if the bilge were running all night, my bet is that the batteries would be too dead to start the next morning.

It seems suspect to me.

Still a lot of water in your boat if staged.

My bet is on a forgotten plug at launch and then a BS story afterward to cover up the mistake.

If there was that much water in my boat I’d be doing an oil/trans fluid changeout. That water is well above the pan, and I wouldn’t turn the key.

Ding ding ding…right here.

But yeah “thanks Malibu for making such a good boat” (not sure what that has to do with the situation).,

Yeah, my bet is he just forgot to put plug in, or tighten it good and it vibrated itself back out. Like someone else said, if I were bold enough to pull someone's plug, he wouldn't have found it to put back in.

My water story this summer . . .

We rented a house on Norris with my friends last month. We headed in after an early morning wake set. The dock next to ours had some early 20yo peeps with a 21’ jet boat. The hatch is up and there are 3-4 of them looking around. They ask us if we could come over and take a look at their boat. I walk over with my buddy.

Me: what’s going on?
20yo: my battery is going dead

As I look down and see water up to the top of the motor:
Me: well, you got bigger issues than a dying battery.

I grab my portable tsunami ballast pump and start pumping water out. After 10 mins I’m looking around and the water is not lowering as fast as it should

Me: did you put the plug in?
20yo: not sure, where would I look for that?

So I jumped in and put the plug back in. Now the water is starting to go down. After a few mins I ask:

Me: hey did you happen to notice your bilge pump going on last night when you were out on he boat?
20yo: oh yea, we did notice the bilge pump constantly running when we were out and when docking the boat.

Me: so what did you do?
(here comes the kicker. . . )
20yo: we turned it off

We pulled the plugs for them, got the motor to turn over, then sent them off for an oil change.

They were appreciative and bought us a case of beer and a bottle of bourbon. Nice kids, new to boats and a little over their heads.

Now that part was awesome of them!

Did you guys sneak back over later and pull their drain plug so you could do it all again? [emoji1787][emoji1787][emoji1787][emoji1787]

Did you ask the 20yo what hitch his truck had and did his boat have thrusters?

But seriously solid props for helping the kid despite his boat having no props and a hole in his hull.

I believe that's an mb, not a 'bu. that front end screams 2013-2018 tomcat with that tower.
they don't have floatation foam hence they are not nmma certified. here's what happens when not.

My buddy has an Axis and he keeps an extra T plug and drain plug in his boat at all times just in case he forgets the standard ones or they fall out for some reason.

I guess it's possible this guy had a spare and the perp disposed of the one he pulled.

It is dubious though....with all the cameras now days, I can't see anyone risking a felony purely because they are haters.

That video does seem a bit staged as they forgot the plug or looking for an ins claim. I highly doubt most vandals would even know the center plug was there as standard I/Os don't have them. Much less just pull the plug and set it to the side and not mess with anything else in the boat at all.

Look out for this guy. He isn't removing plugs, but has been known to put some boats on the bottom pretty fast!https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20210901/5d10950ecde9cb48d6fa519a69816630.jpg
