What type of boat? Engine? Which side? Front or rear of engine?

If it’s off the exhaust, and exhaust is coming out CO will be a big issue. CO in the right concentrations can be explosive. If this is the case, don’t drive it. Get it towed to the dock or launch.

i can't figure out how to post a picture but there is a black plug next to the o2 sensor on the exhaust manifold this blew out. motor is a 2015 400 raptor 6.2l from a 2015 moomba mondo.
i did get it loaded up but was wondering if any damage occurred from running the boat with out this plug? also there were also no fault codes from this.

thanks

I am assuming you mean this small pipe plug I have circled…As mentioned above the “air” coming out is straight up exhaust. I would not run the boat with that plug out..

Good news it, it’s likely just a standard size pipe plug you should be able to get at any hardware store.

Yes that was the plug I had to run the boat to get it to the lift as we were in the middle of the lake and to the launch to get the boat out I had the motor compartment open all the time to release the exhaust. Would any damage have occurred to the motor from running it with the plug out is what I’m wondering?

No damage to the engine, but check the areas around that plug to see if anything melted from the exhaust escaping into the engine bay but sounds like you had the engine bay open which helped. .. Everything is likely just fine…

Thanks for all the responses the exhaust was not hot at all and you could put your hand over it so everything should be fine kind of weird on how that loosened and blew off ? Back to the dealers for an inspection, service and winterization sucks to cut the season short

Plug is probably in the bottom of the boat. If threads are fine, put it back in with some threadlock on it.
