I would like to install an under platform ladder on my boat and wanted to know if I can screw it on without drilling all the way through the platform? Or do I need to drill through it and install with bolts?

You can do it without screwing all the way through as others have done. I think they all share the same swim platform.

Also use some sort of adhesive to help support the screws. Like most things on the hull 5200 does the work and the screws are support.

I would not use 5200 though, unless you plan to never take it off. Use 4200 and stainless screws.

I added one to my SA, the platform is thick so the screws don't go all the way through. I assume the Makai platform is similar if not the same.
And I agree either 4200 or 5200 3m adhesive.

If we float without the ballast full, it's a bit if a pain to get back up there.

Guys,

z28ke already did this to his Max.

Post 187 and the following

1" screws work and do not go all the way through. Pre-drill the fiberglass first and use some sealant.

Do a small write-up if you have time. Lets see the work.

try this thread. more pics and details.
we bought one and were all set to install but sold the boat. I think it would have been one of the best non-ballast mods.
