That is a pointy bow.
The paragon tower is badass.

I thought they were updating the SAN 230. I love Nautique, but I'm not a fan of how all their hulls look like the Paragon. I don't like the tower or all the angles on the Paragon. Just my two cents.

Do you like the aesthetics or functionality of the tower? I think the functionality is cool, but I just think it looks ugly.

Honestly, I think it looks pretty sharp. Good price point as well... kind of fits in the middle of their lineup well. Probably would land right in between a loaded 23' Moomba and 23' Supra price wise. I'd bet performance is on par or close to the G23, just a bit less flashy.

Interesting.
I like the pointy bow look, reminds me of an old school runabout.
I don't really love the paragon tower, very cool but not a fan of how it looks, too blocky and large for the boat IMO.
Interesting from Nautique, looks to be somewhat of a low-mid level boat (based on stereo etc) but I can't get the builder to load to see what the cost comes to with some options.

Well they managed to make a once awesome looking boat into one of the ugliest. That tower may be functional but it looks terrible. I can now say i would rather have a Mastercraft tower and that ain't easy to say. And the blunt nose on the boat is hideous. Looks like a mini van with mags to me. Terrible terrible terrible. Looks like someone carved a boat out of a solid block of wood and used lego's for the tower. In fact it reminds me of a lego kit.

I think this is a great looking boat with great gelcoat lines and you can option this boat up to darn near a G23 level. I actually like the gelcoat lines better than the G23 if you play with the build tool.
This boat will be a great seller for them and take some business from Malibu and the LSV people for sure.
The only thing that would be a deal breaker for me is the 100" beam on it. Why not make it 102" ??

Assume you're talking about the optional telescoping tower? If so, I agree. I prefer the base tower on all their boats.

If you watch the walk through video on with Shaun Murray on youtube they show all three tower options. I would probably opt for one of the other options than the telescoping tower. I also think the speakers on the telescoping tower are super ugly.

Missed the 100” beam, that is a headscratcher.
Trying to think of why they would do this when the industry standard is 102”??

To make sure it's "less" than the G23

The S23 is the only boat in the Nautique Wake/Surf category that is 100" beam. All of the boats in the watersports category are 100" beam but they had to be thinking this would take away from the G23 sales if it was 102" beam. I need to walk and sit in one to see how it feels on the inside. Hopefully they have one this weekend at the Nautique Regatta in DFW!!

Yea I think if this were 102” beam people who were shopping for a G would take a REAL hard look at the S. I don’t care for the bow being as blunt shaped as it is. In some angles it looks really bad but others not too bad. I like the looks of the 2nd tower option but look the tech in the vertical Paragon style tower. I’m jealous AF their bimini’s are always so huge and look to cover a lot of the cockpit in shade without needing the new additional tarp and whip things we’ve been seeing lately. Overall you get a boat that sort of looks like a G but different enough, G-like interior minus all the extra flash and details at a lower cost. Some will look past the 100” beam but I can’t go back after having 102”. Those few inches seem to make everything feel much wider.

I don't care for the hard lines of the Nautiques. Just looks odd to me. Especially don't like the harsh V up front on the S. That said, it is probably a great boat for those that are stuck on a Nautique and dont want to spend for the G or Paragon. I prefer the looks of the Supras, or even Malibu's. The M series look a little boxy, but are more subdued...not as divisive as the Nautiques.

I'm going to have to agree. The boat looks like a cross between when my kid would build Lego Wakesetters (blocky and oddly proportioned), and an ungainly tri-hull from from the mid 1970s.
I'm sure functionally it's a great boat, but it is not a looker.

I really have a hard time believing 2" reduction in beam will make much difference. The beam spec is the max width of the boat, not like an average over the length of the boat and not the waterline beam where I'd think it mattered more to performance. I wonder how much interior was really lost... or if they just thinned up the gunwale a bit. Maybe I'm wrong here but it feels like the G23 might be artificially wider at it's widest point just because of all the aesthetic lines on the side of the hull. At the tower mounting points I'd bet they are the same width... it would be silly to develop 3 tower variants just for this new model. I guess it's hard to know until we get a look at it.
The S is the mojo of the Nautique line.

That's what I was thinking as well, although still a bit more $$$ and perhaps more refined in some areas. The dry weight is still 700# more even with the lower beam, lots more storage from the looks of it, and it appears a fair bit more tech.
All in all, I'm happy to see more competition and innovation good for the industry and customers. I'm even more excited to see what SC offers up tomorrow... hopefully my 22 Mojo has a few surprises in store!

It is true the beam of the boat and the feel of width depends on how far they carry the beam fore and aft from the center of the boat. My previous boat was only 96” beam but they did do a good job of maximizing space for what it was (Yamaha). The thing is that yes it’s measured at its widest point but that also means that the interior itself generally shrinks with it. I don’t know maybe not a big deal for some but after having the Max I’m just used to having tons of room and space so I wouldn’t want to go backwards on my next boat.
Trying not to be biased but I think Supra makes some of the best looking boats out of them all. I like the previous gen G’s over the crazy “diamond” shape bow and lines of the newer G and Paragon. It’s overly aggressive but some people like that. Either way always good to have more competition. With the way these boat prices are going I’ll never be able to own a new one no matter the brand lol.

So is it just coincidence that nautique releases this boat the day before the new ‘22 SL is unveiled??!

There is no doubt in my mind, but after seeing the new SL, it’s no question the SL looks better.

I'd be hung up on the 100" beam until I saw the surf wave. it'll be a non issue if that boat surfs as well as any 102" boats. we've all been conditioned to think 102" is the end all be all.
tower is fugly as all hell but there are others out there that are just as bad. it's in the eye of the beholder and will be a love/hate thing for sure.
guessing it's the replacement for the sante230. big big shoes to fill if it is from the boarding crowd. that line never did really surf that great compared to others of the day.

100” beam, are they going after that hybrid market? Ski, wake, and surf?

The GS series is the crossover boat. They have a 20,22,24 foot version. Ski wake surf.
I think sandm is correct they are replacing the 210 and 230 traditional bow wake boats. The more recent year models of the 230 have had great wakesurf reviews.

I think if the paragon tower can be lowered and then towed without removing the bimini that would be a game changer for me. I am probably making putting up and taking down the bimini more of a pain then it really is, but I wish there was a permanent bimini tower solution.
I like the design of the Nautique. The Max is not the most eye appealing at first but I have come to love mine.

I like it. The hull shape is different but reminds me of a battle cruiser. Get that thing in battles ship gray and it will look like you are surfing a navy vessel.
The 100" beam wouldn't bother me since we still do some skiing, but depending on the depth of that hull, skiing will not be an option. The surf wave look good but I wonder how they had it stacked for the promo pics/videos.
